No idea unfortunately. In my eyes I did nothing special. I updated to 3966 from the settings menu in 4824 (the "unsafe" method) and everything worked for me. By accident I updated from an NTFS formatted USB-stick, but even that went smoothly.

NEED HELP TO UPGRADE FIRMWARE

My Playon HD Mini was running ver 7.3.6.3582. I tried to upgrade this to ver 7.4.6.r3966 use the Safe (Recommended) method. I got an error message "Incompatible Bootloader", install original firmware again. I could not install the original version (the device just hangs on the Splash screen!). I have, however, downgraded, successfully to ver 7.0.21.r3875. However, when I try to upgrade to 7.3.6.3582 (using either the Safe method or the menu method, the device hangs again. What am I doing wrong here please?

I'm sorry, but i reverted back to r4824 because i could not login into my NAS anymore with my username and password with r3966. Anyone an idea?

This is a bug. A.C.Ryan will fix it fast. At least they should ...

On your Playon select the File Manager and then My_Shortcuts. If you do not already have shortcuts you will see an empty screen. Press the Menu button of the remote, select the Add option and supply the necessary data, a.o. the IP-address of your NAS.

Have updated my mini to this firmware, and it all worked fine, kids watched a movie on it great.
Turned off, went out came back turned on .
now have a
Unknown Hardware: The Software cannot work

error message.

why is this, when it was working before and now after turning off, it won't work.

Would some one from, AC Ryan please let us know if you are taking note of the bugs / issues, and what the timetable is to get them resolved so the new GUI is usable?
Yrs I know it's the weekend - but we've had posts before on a weekend

So far it works...SPDIF is OK. But i don't use true Hd. I don't have to change the settings when i hear Stereo/DDS 5.1. It's working with Passthrough.

Some issues perhaps someone could help me:

- Sometimes one of my plugged in USB Drives is not recognized. Plug in and out does not solve the problem but when i change the USB Ports they work. untill next time....

- If i go to Music via UPNP i can see my music and play it. But the Song i choose doesn't play. there simply plays another song in this folder but it displays the one i choose. this is the same as is was in the beta version

- thumbgen is not working in the same way like it did with the last official firmware. now i only see the movie sheet and not the cover

- i always have to set the subtitle setting new, it doesn't remember the setting.

hopefully some of the things get fixed in time. perhaps someone has a solution for my problems?

I did, but get error: login fail. On my win7 pc the credentials work. also on the old firmware the credentials are working fine

i have a Netgear stora NAS.

For me it works perfectly on my Windows Server 2003 and it also works for others with a NAS whom I gave the same advice. Maybe there is something wrong with your NAS, since for you it does work with your Windows computer.
