 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73800_v9.5.5.r3966
Hi Guys & Girs
I am new to the world of ac ryan hdmini 2 and i am wondering useing the filebrowser menu is very messy and just does not seem right is there any way of adding my movies folder on my server to the the movies folder on the ac ryan to i can access them that way instead of haveing to navigate through 5 menu's to get to them i bought these box's so my kids could watch films in there rooms and sadley they seem a little to complicated for them to use i must admit i find the task of haveing to access folder after folder to view films very frustraiting and it takes away the enjoyment of the minihd2 IMO

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73800_v9.5.5.r3966
Had a quick play with r3966 last night. Everything seems to work OK so far and, I'm pleased to say, it doesn't reboot when I stop a film now.
Picture quality excellent (always has been, including the Mini 1), sound very good. It does everything I need it to do.
I tend not to complicate things. I don't stream anything via the network - everything is on two external USB drives. I know other users have different requirements but this works for me. The only thing the network connection is used for is internet radio which works very well.
Muzee is a nice addition but, as with YouTube, picture quality is mostly very poor. Radio's OK though.
HOWEVER...
Aaaaargh!! The dreaded black band across the top of the screen is still there whenever any button is pressed. You WILL be fixing this in the next update won't you A C Ryan?

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73800_v9.5.5.r3966
I have installed this firmware. I use the HD mini 2 to stream video's from the network. But the problem is that when i go to file manager - network it doesnt show anything besides shortcuts. The previous firmware was working just fine with network connections.
Anyone has this problem with the latest firmware?

Can confirm this.. files still come up with "Unknown start code" (and other errors) when trying to play over NFS. Why is it that ACR is unable to fix such a vital feature.. that actually worked in the first firmware?

16 days short of two months since the last release. I am like most people here struggling to see why after such a long period that all the outstanding bugs haven't been resolved and the requested features implemented. I fail to see why it should be so hard. I like others have already suggested that the code be open source. If that's not acceptable why not at least let those who are coders to have access to the SVN. I'm offering my services free of charge and others I think would do the same. I'm not interested in a credit. I'm assuming you have SVN, testing units that kind of thing?

I spend a lot of time working on Gnome at RedHat and I'm a volunteer for the Xfce project so I know a thing or 2 about UI design and maybe others do as well. If we could get together a couple of motivated forum members we could really clean up and streamline the firmware. It would be a smart move for ACR to take us up on this. It would also show us ACR really does care about customer satisfaction.

I'm afraid I spoke too soon in my above post.
It DOES reboot randomly but usually when a video is stopped either mid film or at the end.
Oh well... Sigh.

After some time stops working, the sound from HDMI. You need to turn off the power. When viewing the photos, I clicked on the zoom control and the player rebooted. The Internet can search for TV sometimes does not work. When you run the TV freezes. There's more, but already I can not specify. Now I really have to show the movie and do not enjoy anything else. These movies at least somehow run up to the failure of the sound after some time. In this work I would be ashamed!
