No improvement here. I flashed four times in safe mode, the problems stays. This is a serious bug, fix this!

When pushing photos to the Ryan with iMediashare (DLNA), the Mini usually crashes.
Did the same when I tried to share youtube vids and whatnot.
Not very stable.

Hi all, .....was all that time we all patiently(or less ) been waiting for this release worth it??? NOT SO SURE.
Browsing menu speed has improved OK , but that´s all. First three items in menu(Films, Music, Photos) are absolutely for nothing, because indexing files on my 1Tb Hdd takes ages, and results sux. It shows all files , even those which are hidden. When returning to homescreen Playon stops responding for nearly 10 sec. till it shows recently added files (i know ,i can prevent it by clearing history setting, but then all this feature losses its meaning)
While watching a movie i press Setup button , Playon restarts immediately
After restart can´t read my Hdd attached to USB port
Jukebox feature i better won´t comment
After pressing Turn off button screen remains for 10 sec on????

Im not going to mention a firmware with 8 in name , just to prevent my post to be deleted again , but i think there a lot of ispiration in it. Cya.

I downloaded the latest firmware yesterday and since then, my AC Ryan is dead.

What I did:

- downloaded the file, unzipped it and copied the IMG file to a USB stick (FAT Formatted)
- Put the stick into a port on the back of the Mini
- Took the power off
- Pushed en held the 'on' button
- Switched the power back on
- waited..and released the button
- Error message appeared in a yellow bar saying somehting like "invalidate firmware".

Since then all I get is the startscreen. I tried downloading the original firmware, but the device doesn't respond to anything anymore...

Please help me

Confirming that pushing Setup during playback restarts the Mini.

Question: Does A.C.Ryan read this thread or do they want every single one of us to mail the bugs?

UPnP only shows some files in a directory.

I have shared a directory containing 27 .mkv movies. Only seven of them is visible on my Mini. It's not about too long names because the movie with the longest directory and file name is visible ...

Everything I tried worked fine. (Only videofiles streamed over Lan from a Qnap sharing mediafolders)

Really liking the new way it skips forward in movies.

Still no shortcut to shared media folders. It is like the mini never was really meant to be just a mediastreamer.

Great that it defaults to play subs (external files and internal streams), but I agree that the default size should be smaller. 18 usually works for me. 20 is too big and stuff ends up outside the screen.

One thing I would really like to change is how it start playing the next videofile as soon as the previous ends. This behaviour is of course great when listening to music. However I would like an option to disable it when watching video. I usually keep entire seasons of tv series on a folder, and it is bloody impossible to stop it from loading the next episode when the one I watched stops. When an episode ends I typically want to stop watching (for a while at least)

BTW: I also tried med8er or whatever it is called and it was just ok (IMHO of course.) I'm sticking with AC Ryans software. The biggest plus for me with med8er was a shorter path to the network share.
I don't really care for so called eyecandy. Give me something clean and efficient any day. I want to look at movies, not the GUI.

Ooops! Wrong post

So i waited over half a year.....for the worst firmware ever. Sorry to say that, but it's nothing else.
The navigation is to slow (same for starting and ending), especially this damn device/file search at the start up! Why is there this nonsense scan at the beginning, it takes ages with a 1 or 2 TB disk (and makes everything else useless)!

The whole structure and looking of the menus is c***. All feels like not ready for a final version of a firmware...
Now, do i have to wait another half year for something real (or same as now)?!

I bought this box to have a little player which shows me the movies i through on it, and this easy task hopefully with no problems. But since 2011 all the Mini does is making me frustrated, because here and there are problems, now more than ever. And i was really patient...

I will buy and built me my own HTPC, will be a bit bigger, but no more problems no matter what i want it to do! And that's all i need at the end...and normally no big deal to put it in action, but not here!

Its slow yes, but looks great !

Default is workgroup. I need to change this.
