Hello Playon!HD Mini 2 owners!

We are happy to announce our new official firmware.
Below you will find links to download this new firmware together with the change log and instructions on how to install this firmware. Please make sure you get the right firmware version for your product.

The flashing Procedures: We have 2x separate ways to flash your firmware. We strongly recommend you to use the ‘Safe-Mode method’ when it’s the first time you install this new firmware.

Safe-Mode method (*recommended!):
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Shutdown the player.
4. Press and hold down the power button in front of the player for 15 seconds.
5. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

System update method:
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Go to Setup>Misc>USB Upgrade and press 'Enter' on your remote control to confirm.
4. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

!!DO NOT POWER OFF THE UNIT WHILE FLASHING! THIS MIGHT CAUSE DAMAGE AND RESULT IN DEFECT HARDWARE!

4. Setup: how are you connected? Via AV Receiver / TV / Router / Switch / Wireless / Wired etc.
5. Operating System (optional): Windows 7 / XP / 2000, Linux (distro)

Thank you for the new firmware, I'm not able to load it at the moment but it'll be nice to have the hidden files and subtitles bugs fixed.

But why haven't you sorted out the main menu shortcuts? This is what a lot of us are screaming out for and it is the main problem with the Mini2 so surely it should be at the top of the list of things to fix? It has been 4 months since we pointed it out to you...

Have installed this new firmware and it seems like the color of the .srt subtitle has got less white (more greyish)?

Although i appreciate all the hard work the developers put into this, I also don't understand why the nr1 request from the community hasnt been fixed? (the menu shortcuts.... i hate click*wait*click*wait 14 times to get somewhere i should get in max. 3 clicks...)

Also, could you explain why it's not being open-sourced, since many users here seem capable of helping out?
Is it just license-issues?

Keep up the hard work, and keep explaining to keep the community involved...

Xvid / Divx codecs does not work (Movies looks scrambled), still no screensaver using internet radio.

Edit: Xvid / Divx playback does not work when using nfs, but works using samba.

Divx/Xvids seem to be ok for me.

Subtitles still seem to turn on when I don't want them to, but I'll have to investigate more to be sure.
Forced subtitles now seem to work in DVD ISOs, but still aren't working in BD ISOs.
The screen size/aspect ratio issue with DVD ISOs still remains (though I couldn't see anything in the change log so I didn't really expect a fix).

Do we need to relog these bugs again? Some feedback on what bugs are already on the "to do" list would be nice.

You make us experiments on rabbits? FW again this imperfect and full of errors that can not certainly be tested!
For example, Muzee Internet TV is still frozen. XXL YouTube still does not work. Why ?

Can you explain this a bit further?
Muzee works here so does youtube xl in our tests. Please specify what exactly does not work for you so we can help you.
Eventually you need to start youtube XL a second time if it blanks out on first load. This is a known bug to us and already has been reported. This also happens if you start facebook for the first time. If you start it again it will work.

Just downloaded the new release and installed via USB-Update (menu: System): everything seems to work fine!
Did not in-dept review and/or testing, planned to do that this weekend
