Did you try a safeflash ?

Safe-Mode method (*recommended!):
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Shutdown the player.
4. Press and hold down the power button in front of the player for 15 seconds.
5. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

Totally different

Also with the second version of GUI2 the network goes down after a couple of minutes.

Installed the firmware correctly but when i want to switch off the unit after 5 seconds it switches on back again.
Strange

Same issue here "bootlog not recognised It says install original firmware". And now it hangs on the "welcomepage".

How to solve issue with "original firmware" ?
or
How to reset and get back to normal operation ?

Just installed it: WOW!
First impression: great new GUI, great new options (Youtube, Flickr, Picasa etc). Everything seems to work fine at first glance.
SAMBA (NAS) works as well, you just need to re-enable it in the setup.

oh i shall give this one a try then if its a different gui, i really hated the beta one

It's the same GUI as in the beta.
Faster and less buggy but it looks the same and have pretty much the same functionality.

Just updated my PlayonHD Asia with the safe method (Though my USB stick is NTFS). No problem.

Installation was smooth with no hick up. Starting screen instantly recognized my tv can do 1080p 60hz.

Menu is pretty smooth and a cheetah compared to beta.

Set up the FTP, need to restart so the playonHD gets the DHCP IP from my router.

Stream files from my win7 PC with no problem.

Movies plays nicely so far with no problem on subtitles.

Can create multiple folder trees via FTP (very nice ).

If my eyes does not deceive me, new stream rendering? Looks really nice and less artifact than usual.

Bug:
Doesn't recognize my m3u file though The m3u file is set in the root of the folder of the files.

Still won't remember the subtitle preset (I like to set it to yellow, but reverts back to white whenever I change file).

Still trying out other stuff.

Overall I am impressed Gonna use this firmware onwards. Awesome job guys
