Hello Playon!HD Mini owners!

We are happy to announce our new official firmware.
Below you will find links to download this new firmware together with the change log and instructions on how to install this firmware. Please make sure you get the right firmware version for your product.

NOTE: We reuploaded a new version of r3966 on our homepage which fixes the reboot issue some of the older models (DA / DD) had. Please re-download the firmware again! (16.06.2011)

The flashing Procedures: We have 2x separate ways to flash your firmware. We strongly recommend you to use the ‘Safe-Mode method’ when it’s the first time you install this new firmware.

Safe-Mode method (*recommended!):
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Shutdown the player.
4. Press and hold down the power button in front of the player for 15 seconds.
5. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

System update method:
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Go to Setup>Misc>USB Upgrade and press 'Enter' on your remote control to confirm.
4. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

!!DO NOT POWER OFF THE UNIT WHILE FLASHING! THIS MIGHT CAUSE DAMAGE AND RESULT IN DEFECT HARDWARE!

4. Setup: how are you connected? Via AV Receiver / TV / Router / Switch / Wireless / Wired etc.
5. Operating System (optional): Windows 7 / XP / 2000, Linux (distro)
6. Description of problem: please write an understandable description of the problem so that we can reproduce / confirm this.

I've updated my PV73200 now.
GUI looks really cool.

With the new Firmware i'll don't get a WLAN-Connection.
Problem: The original WLAN Stick will not be recognized.
The green LED dont flashes.

Is it normal that the "Welcome"-screen shows for minutes during update, or has something gone wrong if that's the case?

My USB memory has been flashing for minutes now, but the "Welcome"-screen is the only thing I've seen.

This status has been for more than five minutes now.

Earlier updates hasn't been acting this way.

** SOLVED **

I turned the device of and made a normal flashing procedure.

Thank you AC Ryan. HFS+ support and tons of goodies including Youtube. You people are beautiful. My 2 1/2 years old PlayOn Mini live on forever. Since I'm really poor right now, you guy have safe me some money on media player. If I have more money, I will definitely buy your next gen products.

Before reporting this as a bug, I just want to check if this problem is known to others:

When logged in to Youtube, pressing my username results in the message: UNABLE_SERVICE

Has anyone managed to press their username and reach the service?

Tried out the new firmware and have gone back to r4312. It took 4 attempts before the FW would install, the menu's are still too slow, there is no UK option for the Yahoo Weather and news, the options for Ken Burns and photo transition effects have gone and when I select Movies, Music or Photos from the main menu nothing happens.
