I've been using this beta firmware since its release. Yes it's slow but it plays all my movies and music, plus I can watch TED talks with it. It all went well until half an hour ago. I turn on the device and let it scan the internal disk. Usually I would stop it, but today I was browsing on my laptop, so I thought, just let it scan. It was not the first time I left the device scanning the drive. But I did notice that, today's scan took much longer than before. After some time, I closed the laptop and turn to my TV. I browse through the file system on the device and found my folder empty! All my movies and music were kept in that folder but now they are all missing! I've read some posts before complaining about missing files and some one recommended to do a scan disk by connecting the disk to a MS Windows PC. Too bad I only have a laptop and have no way to connect the harddisk.

I really suggest all of you who are still using this beta firmware to move away from it.

Also, I've reported my incident to A.C.Ryan support via email. Not hoping for any help from them, just want to let them know something bad had happened to their user. It seems like they do not read the posts in the forum.

Kraakie i've bin off forum for a while, but did took a peek at it from time to time.
maybe you should read the rules on open source.
So far i know the firmware is open source, so why not use the firmware from another brand.
The ACRyan guys are working hard you say, and they probably do!!, but if " our" problems are solved with this "medi8ter" firmware why not. the device stays a acryan and acryan allread has our money for it.

i don't see the problem. (probb. you say it will brick your device.. i doubt it. and if it happens there is allways a solution.)
about the 2115... it's beta. it's bugy. it even played some / more files better than the 4824. i did report the problems i had with it and flashed mine back to 4824.
happy with acryan.......the hd does what i want and i don't do the extra things with it i used to.
But nothing changes .. only there is interest to implement new gui's, or looks of the gui's, but the stability of the device is thrown to 2nd... no lets sat 10 th place.
Just give me a fw with old gui and stable device. thats all i want.

Well it's the rules of Ac Ryan itself that they don't want links to mede8or hacked fw.

Second sdk 4 with old gui is not possible to much codes etc has changed behind the gui.

and a question about that, since you tested it, did the jukebox speed also improve or just the menu speed?
