Probably, you will will get a new version (fixing various known problems - I don't care much about a new UI) or... you will forget you need one!

Recent news was about alpha versions. After 5 months to just adapt DVR code and still to be at some vague alpha, not even a beta? Nothing for anyone to see? Come on.

DVR is in low priority or even abandoned for some new, replacement product. Or just there are no people able to do the transition. Or... anything similar you can guess.

People should really try out Honki´s MHDWorld Realtek Firmware. It's takes your mind out of the DVRs failure for a wile...

I tried this a few weeks back.. it does at a few new features/streaming tv/radio stations.. and heaps of plug-ins that I didn't try.
But I got a lot of freezing where I had to pull the power otherwise it wouldn't do anything
I re-flashed the normal ROM and now i have a folder in my list call MHDworld that reappears every time I delete it.

And thats why we don't recommend custom firmwares.

And if You are pis.ed of from being pulled for nose with bad functionality of unit (NOT as advertized) there goes your waranty down the drain...

Currenttly i have heard (but i think that is alsu urban legend) that some people tried to help THEMSELF with a big bunch of nonwarranty covered things like:

six months asking politely for working firmware (warranty stays????),
change of small parts of lines in code to get radio and Youtube working (again, warranty lost),
using some weird hdd's from some small manufacturer like Samsung and WD(never heard),(read forum, and i think that they also should lose warranty for touching screws,..),

As You can read-all You can do is sit and wait (and Your warranty will expire....then You can use some FW)

Even if You hit unit to the wall is less blasfemy than to try to make this unit WORK AS IT SHOULD.


Once more U managed to offend people without any credits from Your side (and ACRyan stuff side also, even if they dont even bother to read this forum...)

I'm going to try to get a full refund.

I really really wonder,
which company can have such a lousy project planning that
- in Nov 2010 they said the new FW will be ready before X-mas
- in Jan 2011 they said it's ...
- in ...
...
- and by end of May 2011 the FW is still not available

unless the company is
- either managed extremely badly ( and will not survive )
- or deliberately giving wrong and/or misleading information to customers i.e this FW was re-prioritized again and again and again ... and maybe will be cancelled sooner or later

The acryan devs needs months for adapting a new sdk to her existing firmware. I would really like to see where the problems are in the firmware migration to a new SDK. They have only to adjust the code and no complete new development.

This let us conclude two simple reasons for the delay. The devs are busy with all other thinks other than the new firmware for pvr or they does'nt know what they do. In this case should acryan engage professional developers as fast as possible.

Many customers here should have warranty yet and related to recording problems due the crippled Foldernames is here a functional problem. And acryan is not be able to solve this. The Solution is simple - return it and money back. This is the only language which this manufacturer understand.
