I would like to add that in the previous firmware worked my Logitech wireless set. The latest firmware PV73800 v9.5.5.r2988 Mini2 malfunctioning.
Please opravud, I can write normally again.

It doesn't work at all? In r2988 the way the keyboard works changed a bit.
For example if you are on a login box or password box you will not be able to input directly from the keyboard. First you have to press enter to bring up the input text console. There you should be able to type. We use a wireless combo here at our office to from logitech which doesn't seem to have this problem.
Wich typ are you using?

So Arne, when will you guys update this thread with the known bug list?

I have submitted the "unofficial" bug list I made for r2988 (viewtopic.php?f=173&t=13730) to the bug tracker email some time ago, but didn't get any response _at_all_ from ACR?

please refer to my other post: viewtopic.php?f=168&t=13780&start=40
We will try to put it up within the next days here in the initial firmware post.

regards,

Hi,
In the previous firmware worked normally. I clicked the window, I could write there. For example, ICQ messenger. As well as writing on Facebook. Now I can not.
Mouse and reacts badly. When I returned to FW everything was fine.
I use a Logitech Pro 2400 Cordless Desktop.
It looks as though once identified the wrong keyboard layout, or do not understand the device.

Another problem I have with the screen. I connected the HDMI cable. I have a TV Full HD 1920 x 1080 Samsung T260HD. When I was just in the menu, so I have a top and bottom black bar. The Asus OPlay! HD2 does not happen. It seems to me that the bar adds even movies. I know that the stripes are normal, but when I set red lines for the bar retracts to fit the entire screen.

Arne, please don't take this as a personal attack but I think this is something that is bothering many of us.

Could you explain why you are spending time working on external keyboards - something that, to the best of my knowledge, only this person has a problem with - when a great many of us are screaming for the interface to be fixed so that we can go straight to our videos, for the subtitle and audio settings to "stick" rather than needing to be reset each time, and for a host of far more annoying bugs to be fixed?

I am getting SO frustrated with my Mini2 and given the amount of negative feedback you're getting on the board I would have thought you guys would be working flat out to sort out the major problems that are upsetting people rather than "fiddling while Rome burns".

Wouldn't it make more sense to be breaking your necks to turn things around so that all of us who are complaining start posting how happy we are with ACR for taking a half-finished device and turning it into the magnificent product that it could easily be?

If that's not possible, could you (ACR) consider releasing the firmware as open source so that we, the users, can fix it?

Hi,

the way the keyboard works changed in the sdk. We didn't spend any time on changing anything about the keyboard. This is just the way realtek has it implemented now. My statement should be seen as an information for you guys so you know how to use the keyboard again.

OK, fair enough, but hopefully you guys will be addressing the rest of the issues soon.

After upgrading to this firmware i have noticed an audio problem which is fairly repeatable.

My audio is via HDMI and after playing several videos of various formats the audio will cut out. The timing is hard to pin down, sometimes it happens after 30 minutes, sometimes after several hours of continuous playback. To be clear, the audio won't cut out during playback, only when you try and start the next movie.

When it occurs the video starts as normal, video display is normal looking, just no audio. Turning the unit off and back on via the remote fixes it every time.

Dear ACR, any update on when the "reboot when pressing stop button" bug is fixed?

Thanks.

It's on all folders if you have thumbnails or moviesheets.

Post Re: [Official] Firmware Release PV73800 v9.5.5.r2988 Mini2
Thought I'd play the game and have logged the following bugs via the bugtracker email address:-

Quote:
Setup:-

Player model: PV73800 HD Mini2
Firmware Ver: V9.5.5.r2988
Setup: HDMI to TV via Onkyo TX-SR508 reciever, 1Gb wired network to Netgear NV+ NAS and Windows Server
Op. System: Windows Server 2008 R2

I’d like to report the following bugs with the latest firmware for the Mini2

• Problem: DVD ISO upscaling/formatting issue. Reproducible: Always
When playing particular DVD ISOs the screen is formatted incorrectly (4:3 ratio when it should be 16:9 for example) and/or sized incorrectly (picture appears in a small box in the centre of the screen). The zoom options have to be used to make the image fill the screen, but due to the limited zoom options available this results in either a border around the image or the image going off the edge of the screen. This problem appears to have been introduced with the new SDK, since the new firmware for the Mini also has the same problem, but it doesn’t exist under Mini firmware V4824 .
• Problem: Zoom option resets when any button/menu selected. Reproducible: Always
When using the zoom option, pressing any key or accessing a menu disables the selected zoom setting and resets it back to default.
• Problem: When browsing the network, hidden/administrative shares and folders on Windows systems are displayed. Reproducible: Always
Administrative shares (C$ etc) and hidden folders ($recycle.bin etc) are shown in the browser. Again, this seems to have been introduced with the new SDK on both the Mini and Mini2.
• Problem: Forced subtitles don’t work on either Blu-Ray or DVD ISOs. Reproducible: Always
Forced subtitles should be mandatory during brief periods of foreign language dialogue, even if subtitles are disabled. These don’t work when playing BD or DVD ISOs on the Mini 2
• Problem: Menu screen corruption on starting the player, player resets if trying to play media and must be powered off and on again. Reproducible: Sometimes
When turning the player on, sometimes the main menu screen shows corruption (picture attached), trying to play anything whilst it’s in this state causes it to reboot. Turning the player off and back on fixes the problem. Problem is very intermittent, has probably happened five or six times out of 50 power-ups.
• Problem: The player loses its screen resolution settings. Reproducible: Sometimes
Intermittently, when powering on the player, it may have lost the “TV System” setting (from 1080p 60) and instead it will read “PAL”, which isn’t usually an option (picture attached). This is very intermittent, I’ve had it happen maybe four times.
