Post Re: Other firmware for POHD
I'm sorry.. Didn't know talking about this was a problem.. I thought it only wasn't allowed to post links to the other firmwares (so I didn't).

[edit]
I've deleted all the posts about it..

I can only imagine that ACRyan is seeing the end of the company and want to slow this down by having moderators take down posts that that discuss GUIs from other companies that actually work great on their own product. It is clear that ACRyan's product are just generic Chinese boxes with a standard Realtek SDK and a mediocre GUI...

Yep... the only things that make that generic box to a "unique AC Ryan product" are the logo on the machine and on the remote... and: their own firmware.

That's it!

And now it's obvious that the most important thing of these 3, is the thing were they lack the most.
It's truly a shame... When it's possible for other companies to make a working and most importantly user-friendly interface for a machine with the same parts, then it must be possible for AC Ryan too. Or they just employ suits who sell the stuff and too little technical staff...

I also see complaining users of the POHD 2... so, there's no improvement whatsoever...

Well you both got it wrong.

Ac Ryan itself is also not happy with the fw as it is at the moment.

They are now trying another way of how the fw is developed and that takes some time to get that working.

Also the reason that we don't allow other brands fw to this forum is this.

First if you flash a modified fw from another player and you flash it after a while with a new acryan fw and your unit goes wild we mods/dev team spend lots of time to figure out why certain bugs/problems appear.
And then to find out that the bugs/problems appear because the user used a modified firmware from another brand player.

So that makes it impossible for us and dev team to give proper support and also we spend valuable time.

I think you can still google your way there.

But before we go any further, can we actually discuss anything at all in this topic?
(Judging from Dirks latest post I was pretty certain this topic would be locked.)

I've already had a similar topic closed and I don't want to get the banhammer for discussing this.

Oh and Dirk:
Quote:
go to the forum of that player and see how long they accept,
you all talking about the playonhd and its firmware.

i guess it will be deleted in one day.

I don't think so since everyone likes a laugh.
How would anyone pitch it?
"Hey guys, wanna try to flash your player with this bug riddled firmware that not only works poorly but also have less features than what you already have?"
