 Menu after disconnect from USB
The screen shot I'm posting is what happens to me when I disconnect the HD2 from USB, after it happens I have to turn off the HD2 and then turn it back on to get the menu back. This never happens with the HD1 on the old GUI. Photo: Attachment:

Btw wich fw version plzz ? Its on the latest firmware as when I purchased it I upgraded straight away. 2nd bug I've also noticed that when you press the subtitles button to bring it on your supposed to press it a 2nd time to make it vanish nothing happens and you have to press return to get back to the movie or program your watching. 3rd bug noted: When playing a video and you stop playing it, then go back to watching it again - after pressing play the menu asks if you wish to resume watching where you last got to it won't allow you to resume after 2 seconds. Not sure if this is a bug but on HD1 when connecting via USB there was a logo for ac ryan - nothing on HD2 so the tv shows no signal. 4th bug (just remembered): When connecting via USB the menu that asks do you want to connect in storage mode only stays on screen for 1 second so you don't get chance to press ok or cancel.

Thnx for reporting The subtitle button problem was a choice not a bug But more people asked it if thats possible to activate ordeactivate a opion thru 1 button That kind of small tweak things will be all looked at. But first they want to streamline the code so the most anyoing bugs are gone and the menu is fast.

Are your subtiles settings also reset to standard when fasforwarding in a movie? I'll try that one today, but just noticed that I may need to reformat my hard drive as the guys from AC Ryan are now informing users to format if going from hd1 to hd2 as the hard drive performs better if formatted to the new system.

Re: Menu after disconnect from USB
Hi all.
I received my new Playon!HD2 yesterday and have been playing (rather: struggling) with it since, along with much searching the internet for information and reading what was there.
1) I confirm ROYDS' 1st and 4th bug, sort of. More precise: After I plugged in the USB 3.0 cable (which was already connected to the pc), on one occasion the 4th bug screen with the prompt stayed on long enough for me to press OK. The 1st bug screen appeared immediately (so not at DISconnect).
2) After copying some videos from my pc to the Playon!HD2 using the USB 3.0 connection (Very fast. Nice!) I could not find any way to get the Playon!HD2 back into player mode. The light on the box was and stayed on and white. This is what I did: a) I tried all buttons on the remote control, including the power off. No reaction. b) I tried the power off button on the box. No reaction. c) I released the USB device on the pc. (This I should have done first, of course. Duh. Hello data/MFT corruption.) The pc played a sound. d) I tried a) again, then b) again. No reaction. e) I disconnected the power from the box and connected it again. The pc recognized the box again with a sound. On the box, the light stayed white, even after trying a) and b) again. f) I released the USB device on the pc again (sound), then disconnected the cable from the USB 3.0 slot on the box. The light stayed white, no matter what I pressed. g) I disconnected the power from the box and connected it again. Only NOW it started in player mode.
3) Questions. Am I correct in concluding that: 3a) to use the Playon!HD2 in player mode, the USB 3.0 cable CANNOT be connected to the USB 3.0 port? Meaning that: 3b) every time I want to copy something from my pc to the Playon!HD2 using the USB 3.0 connection, I have to: - Step 1: connect the USB 3.0 cable to the box; - Step 2: reply "OK" to the prompt or wait for it to time out; - Step 3: do the copy; - Step 4: release the USB device on the pc; - Step 5: physically disconnect the USB 3.0 cable from the box; - Step 6: disconnect the power cord from the box; - Step 7: reconnect the power cord to the box; - Step 8: switch on the box.
(Sorry to be so long winded. If only I had a manual that at least describes how it is supposed to work...)
I really do not see myself doing that a couple of times a day. And what if the player has to go inside a cabinet, where the connectors would be unreachable?)
But maybe I was not doing it right. So could someone please explain how this works or should work? Thanx.

As far as I know the media player has always worked like that - I used to do all that: Connect via usb transfer file, release player, disconnect player, play file Now I'm having to go through my network which is still quick due to the net network port. Its just like the same speed of usb 2.0 for me lol. But I would like the USB connection and disconnect menu to work properly.

You are the only one to react to the 2 postings I wrote. I guess that the AC Ryan people must be away or busy and that everyone else does not have the attention span to read a posting that is more than a few lines long. I am disappointed. Anyway, it turns out that it was not as bad as I first thought. (By the way, everyone, I am writing this down here to the benefit of others...) Both the power and the USB 3.0 cable CAN stay permanently connected to the player. Eventually I managed to reliably switch from storage mode to player mode by 1) disconnecting the USB 3.0 cable at the PC end only (after releasing the connection from the Operating System first, of course) and then 2) switching the player off and then on again, either with the button on the front or with the remote control. Subsequently connecting the USB 3.0 cable at the PC end changes the player to storage mode again, after displaying a meaningless prompt screen (it is OK that it usually does not stay visible long enough to allow for selecting an answer to the prompt, because it switches to storage mode anyway, regardless of the response chosen), followed by the incorrect screen you reported (1st bug).
