 Re: [Official] Firmware Release PV73800 v9.5.5.r2073 Mini2
The "normal" way wasn't working, so i tried the safe mode.
I didn got any message about no update was found" the ryan shows it's logo and then shuts down, shows his logo and then a black screen appears en that's the end of everything.
The remote control refuses any service and there's nothing else to do than to shut down the ryan.
When I try to install the firmware 1731 which was released with my mini 2 every thing works without ANY problems.
So I think that there is something wrong with this firmware.

I also tried to install the new firmware the normal way. The first time it showed that there is no update, so I tried the other USB-Port. After that I could confirm the update, the player restarted and the installscreen appeared, but the Update wasn't sucessfull. I had to unplug the power and reinstall the 1731 again per "safe"-mode and it worked perfect. After that I tried this way again with the 2073 and this time it worked. I know, it's not the way it should be, but my player is running under 2073 now.

any review of the new Firmware? I have no reboot problems. But what does it mean with improved Ui Images? Better Speed?
do i need to update, when i have no reboot problems, or is the firmware faster than the realease version?

There was one obvious flaw where sometimes returning to the main menu caused all the text to appear on a black background, and I haven't seen that since. That's the only potential difference I've observed.

To bad it only fixes some minor "bugs". I'm still waiting on a firmware with a working option to choose my own background.

LOL - I can only assume that all the developers are off on holiday after getting the initial release out. One of the testers must had made these two fixes in his spare time

I guess they are all at the CeBIT. Maybe we'll get more attention next week.

 Re: [Official] Firmware Release PV73800 v9.5.5.r2073 Mini2
I installed V2073 this morning. Initially I had the same problem, it wouldn't install from the 'USB Upgrade' option, but did by using the 'Safe-mode'. However, when it rebooted it went round in an endless loop continually showing the Initial Setup page then rebooting. Since, Feb 2, I had been running V1867 I decided to revert to that, but no luck. Fearing this update had trashed my box I went right back to V1731, it worked, and then using 'Safe-mode' I installed V2073 and it now works.
It would help if the instructions actually pointed you to the correct menu for the USB Upgrade, AC Ryan it's in the 'Misc' folder NOT the 'System' folder.
Does anyone know what the Jukebox feature is for? It does nothing but complain about a missing file.
Another thing that I am finding very annoying is that it clips the first second or so from the start of every tune I play, anyone else have the same?
Also how about a decent user manual, you know the sort that tells you exactly what does what!!!
EDIT They've still not cured the random reboot problem, just browse a few pictures and it either reboots immediately or hangs then reboots. This really isn't good enough for a product which is in it's second incarnation.

I installes V2073 a few days ago and i have to say, that this version can't be fully developed. Installing process was ok. No Problems. But after the first reboot i got the usually loading symbol with a very ugly pink border after the "Engage ur senses" screen appeared. I made a video of that problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-_c0V1ROysI also have this nice problem when i push the Home button on the remote after watching a movie. Does anyone have that problem too? Gruß Angosa
