Flashing Procedures:
Two methods to flash the firmware to your Playon!HD2 mini

Normal flashing procedure (Recommended):

1. Copy install.img to the root directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to any USB host port of the
unit.
2. Enter the Setup menu, System, USB Upgrade and Enter to confirm.
3. The firmware update will start flashing on your display in a moment and will automatically reboot when
update is completed

**Do not power off the unit during the flashing process!**


Safe-mode flashing procedure:

1. Copy install.img to the root directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to any USB host port of the
unit.
2. Switch off the main power to the unit.
3. Press and hold on to the power button on the front panel of the unit.
4. Switch on the main power.
5. Release the power button when the firmware update starts flashing on your display in a moment and
will automatically reboot when update is completed.

**Do not power off the unit during the flashing process!**

Hi!

I´m new here and writing from Germany - so don´t worry about my english! I´m not used to speak and write often, only in those forums! But I try to do my best! Since last week I´m a proud owner of the Mini2 and it works fine! Ingenious Box!

I just downloaded this Update and first I was very pleased to resd about it and then - great disappointment!
WHY this update??? Only for TWO small bugfixes???

What about the horrible network speed??? Only Up to 1 mb/sek in a 100mbit and up to 9 mb/sek in a gigabit - net!
What about the GUI - zapping through the file system on my server is still extremly nerving! No shortcut - folders anyway!

The box is great, this forum is very active and good, the support of ACRyan works fine, but this update was completly unnecessary or you must explain it better and write a better history / bugfix - report!

Does this firmware contain the already-famous GUI 2.0 ?

Yes, but its only for mini2

Just installed it, but there is no GUI 2.0. Although, I have no idea how to check for real.

GUI = Graphical user interface

It is GUI 2.0

Edit: The HD2 and the Mini2 comes default with gui 2.0

Hmmmm tried to install this firmware but nothing happens. Player starts up, i see the logo playon and then it turns black and very quit....when I install the initial firmware everything works fine. Any more people with those problems ?

Remember to put firmware .img in the root of your usb stick.

But why can i reinstall the initial firmware without problems ?
That is exactly the same way to install the newest firmware and that won't work.

Other idea's ?

I have a mini2 running 1731, I have copied install.img to the root directory of the USB stick, and followed the instructions for Normal flash procedure, but get the message "no update was found".

Was this the same as yours Newwolf?

Am I missing something?
