UPDATE:

Just installed it and i am very pleased, i even think it runs faster in the menu compared to my recently bought HD Mini2.
I really don't care about the internet media stuff so i will skip that, also i don't care about the jukebox (indexing the files and stuff like that), because i run everything from my NAS and that is how i feel the mini was made for, just streaming from NAS.
I am also not bothered that u have to click a few times before u get to the movies. How many times you have to that? Once and from then on you can go and watch any movie/music you like.
Thumbgen is working fine too.

Just installed new firmware and so far everything works fine, although I've only used if for Youtube and MP3 over the wireless network. Question- since I access all media via wifi I need to click through the shares etc to access media files. New in this GUI is 'recently added music/movies', but it seems that function does not work in wifi situation. Is it possible to auto scan network drives so that new media is visible in the mainscreen?
Or, even better, is it possible to put network drives right under the music buttons on the main screen so that browsing is not needed anymore?

Can people please state whether they are upgrading from SDK2 or SDK3?

I am trying to upgrade from SDK2 (4107) and cannot upgrade.

My first impression was ok.
But after a while when al my music and movies were loaded in the system after scanning....
Its very sluggish and when playing music and scanning trough my movie gallery it rebooted itself.
I dont know if this firmware is the improvement that we were hoping for.

And an another anoying thing is the fact that it only shows two of my three partitions. The strange thing is that is that it seems selected at random. so now i could't not show my movies.....

1st time poster here after owning this unit for 8 months, my comments on the new beta firmware are as observed:

Pros
Addition of internet media(Revision3 vodcasts etc)
that's it I am afraid

Cons
Menu system as stated is slow, especially in the fundamentals of watching any files.
Remote now feels sluggish and sometimes key presses lag.
New Subtitle gui is overly complicated and now seems to take ages to hide its self.
Bluray Mkv rips that played before fine, now cause unit to lock up.
Blurray rips that used to stutter, now cause the unit to lock before even attempting to play them.
Search bar is now useless it takes some time to fully populate and then is almost impossible to skip forward like previously.
At random times the when trying to play a file the workgroup vanishes and needs restart to be visible again.
Do we need to see the network test everytime a file is played, seems to lock up most at this point.
Although the the new GUI looks better, what is the point if it just renders the unit worse than it was previously? For me personally it word have been nice to keep the previous GUI and just add the internet features!

I will add more as I find them, but on a more serious note, who is actually testing these firmwares? I think maybe you may be using the wrong people and it is time to have other people test them! Especially if you have daily builds.

I am in the market for another unit for my dining room, but was waiting on this to give me some idea whether the Mini2 would fit the bill, but if this is what the state of play is for that, I will have to look at alternatives.

Can anybody please share their experience with audio file playback? Are the large gaps between tracks still there? Is file skipping implemented? Thanks!

Just to confirm - You need to upgrade to SDK 4 (ie this beta) from SDK 3. You cant upgrade from SDK 2.

Major bug for me : No DTS-HD at this point.

switch off the zoom option in the setupmenu and the black borders are gone.
