 Re: [BETA] ACR-PV73100 v7.4.x.r2115 Playon!HD
Upgraded my 3100 and following are my impressions so far:
- this firmware is so slow. Example: in the typing screen, I click the button to get capital letters and it takes 3 seconds for the keyboard to update to capital letters - browsing files is extremely slow - it takes 4 seconds from clicking a directory to the directory actually opening up and listing the files (only 5 files in the folder) - From file browser, when I click the home button, it takes more then 5 seconds to get to the home screen
And there are a lot of other cases like the above where the general impression I have is that the the whole firmware veeeeery slow.
I turned off the scanning - it was just lagging everything...

Great job on the new gui ! bit sluggish though
A few things to clarify:
1)What happened to HDMI Auto? 2) Screen size is still way off on my plasma tv and static images like brand name etc seem to be cut off 3) What is Digital Noise reduction and do i need to turn off as i am already connected thru my onkyo receiver? 4) What button do i press to goTransparent column across to Recently added Movies to play?

I really appreciate the AC Ryan team for continuing to release firmware upgrades.
I loaded this BETA and it is VERY SLOW (as the other guy posted). Also, I can't say I like the GUI change. The text seems much smaller and is difficult to read. The menus look fairly boring as well. This really seems like a big step backwards.
For instance--on the old GUI, on the main menu you could cycle through the options (e.g. File Manager, Jukebox, Setup, etc.)....when you got to the last one, I believe it would loop to the first one. In this GUI, you have to scroll down, and when you reach setup, it doesn't automatically take you back to the first menu item.
Again, I really DO appreciate AC Ryan for continuing to release firmware for the POHD. In my opinion, this GUI is the wrong way to go. I'll roll back to an earlier version.

Hi ACRYAN, where is picture transition, I can find in new Gui and duration time. Also when will u update for BD Structure & DVD Structure to play folder. It's possible or not to add java for bluray menu, since other player can play that (DXXX HD) Also the player can extend the memory to SD, HDD Partition. THanks Bruce

New GUI looks good.
However I noticed that I still can't play 24/192 audio files(regardless of wav or flac) without severe stutter.
The same files play perfectly on a 1055 player at the local agent. Maybe the developing team might want to look into that?

 Re: [BETA] ACR-PV73100 v7.4.x.r2115 Playon!HD
I've been waiting for this the whole weekend since the announcement on twitter on Friday.
Flashed on my PV7100 without any issues. Setup was a breeze.
Just a couple of questions:
1. Is there any way for it not to pick up on hidden folders like $RECYCLE.BIN and System Volume Information? 2. What is the size of the background image to use? Would it be the same as the output resolution? 3. Why does it pick up hidden files under recently added Music/Movies?
Otherwise I'm extremely happy, I'm not experiencing any unresponsiveness issues or sluggishness.
Such a change from the old GUI, thanks again to all at ACRyan.

Looking good so far. Sometimes slightly sluggish, but I can live with that. Still missing a way to make decent shortcuts.
Any way to work with better with the movies/photos/music categories ?? If I select movies, it will show me litterally everything....m2ts streams, movies from my photocamera. Would love an easy way to select just certain types, or jusy certain folders.

Yes I tried that....and it will work for me, but is not really handy for my 5 year old. Can't have it all though. So far I am pretty happy with this release
