 Wifi Samba problem
Im having same problem that is descripted on http://www.acryan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=143&t=12118 discussion side. Quote: I bought a essential (with HDD)and this device works fine. Last week I bought a Wireless-N Adaptor (ACR-WN10002). After a firmware update is seems that this device works ok. I can connect to my accesspoint and I can use the Yahoo Finance and Shoutcast Radio. I would like to connect to the essential from my laptop. Samba is off. So I tried to turn it on. I can see on. But when I select on, it still stays off. I have installed the latest firmware several times, but this makes no difference. What do I do wrong?
Thanks for your answer! I can configure wifi, but i cannot start samba service. And i cannot connect any network shares thru file manager. Have anyone got this samba working?

 Re: Wifi Samba problem
Yep, same issue for me. I'm connected to my network but I cannot seem to turn on Samba at all. As for contacting staff directly - I thought the idea with this forum was that you could get help and others could see the solution?
I find it amazing that no-one from AC Ryan has replied since the original post 6 days ago. This is quite a big issue since it basically makes the wifi-adapter useless.

 Re: Wifi Samba problem
I got a new firmware dated 22 feb from a contact at A.C Ryam with the version-number 5.4.4.1964. However - this still didn't help.
I formated the internal disc and restored the defaults. I then flashed with this new firmware It seems Yahoo Finance is gone and Shoutcast now sits in an "Internet Radio" menu-item. I checked on the HDD and the wifi.bin folder is there complete with a Samba folder in it I can set up a connection to my wifi network However - when I try to change Samba from Off to On it just won't stick.
It's a weird problem ...

Hi SwedBear, i got the same firmware and it doesnt work on my essential box too. It's very Strange that the techsupport says it works on their test essential box.

 Re: Wifi Samba problem
Hi and Good Day everybody. Please do make sure that the bin.wifi (zip) and install.img file is on the USB drive you will use for flashing. After making sure that these two important file is on the drive then you can use it to flash the firmware via safe mode or through the system

 Re: Wifi Samba problem
Hello,
I can confirm this. AND (I think) you should (re)do this with the USB-Wireless N adaptor in the POHD on the same time.
It works fine now (well almost, transferspeed is a bit disapointing)
Theron.

 Re: Wifi Samba problem
Have you reformatted the harddrive ?
Techsupport suggested me to format Essential box harddrive with NTFS and standard settings and try to reflash it. I havent done that yet, because i need some time to take backup of the contents of harddrive.
