why should we trust your statement about discontinuing the pohd. you are only a betatester ( lol). you guys also said there will be a new rev at the end of december, january and begining of feb...
:stepout:

I agree with this opinion. We get so much promises and not much get real from it.
Mainly I can't understand how could go on a firm in EU with this kind of customer care.

I work with electrical products. My boss and me never give up to help the customers.
When the customer have an old product ,we help at all cost. He is the same for me as the new model user.
We help him,to get forward. I was on extreme cases when customer used the product wrong way(lost guarantee with it),I helped him to get it to work.

I got my mediaplayer without usermanual.....,there was little scrap of paper. Please download it at : ......
This usermanual is like ....... . Shame ...
Other users have commented it too, when the new firmware comes out: Why couldn't we get a new usermanual for it???

So go on and prove us, that this product was worth of buying or we should get rid of it.
This last 3-4 firmwares were waste of time.

Do as you wish, think as you wish, i am only here to help.

I can understand you put the blame and distrust on a user that tries to help, because he is visible....
I hope it makes you feel better!

(in the mean time the facts are :
-ACR put out a new FW on an average of 1 per 2 months
-has free helpdesk phonenumbers, with always a willing tech standby [very rare in europe]
-and has always been helpful and considerate till out of the ordinary when users had special circumstances
(- next to offering everyone free voice and forumroom to do as they wish, including "hacking" the box, other development, and yes, even complaining)
This of course being my personal statement and believe as -just a user- who also paid for his product [POHD!1]).

@koets: it's nothing against you, just a bit of frustration.
If you follow my issues (outside the Other Devs section) you'll find that a unit replacement rendered me with some lost features and I can't go back to previous firmware versions that solved them. These were quite important features to me and some other users. But you'll also find that I recognised the prompt and fast replacement of my faulty unit by AC Ryan support...
We have to give you credit for the help you're providing (unless you're getting paid, which means you're not doing more than what's expected :D ), and AC Ryan, for letting moderators use hacked firmware in their signatures ;)
However, we don't need Excel and a statistics degree to recognise that there's been a bigger than usual delay in converting r4824 RC into an official version (by your words, it won't ever make it into official, as the new one is bringing GUI 2.0, apparently).
Some of us want GUI 2.0, but most of us here in the forum just wish for issues to be solved. I don't spend hours looking at the POHD GUI, rather reading subtitles full of tags...
Cheers to you!

understood, but people should understand ACR cannot fulfill everyones wishes, they work hard at getting promises delivered, adn the wishes of the majority filled.

This means: new gui, better ergonomics, and promises delivered. That's what they are working on now, and if this takes longer than expected than so be it. People should loosen up, understand the process, and be happy with the knowledge the effort is being put in.

I understand the need to express frustrations, but i assume this need would be less, if they would first just think of the effort being put in, the knowledge that complaining really doesn't speed up the process, and in the mean time us mods will help as much as possible to work around existing problems.

Me having to reply to issues like the above, takes away time from solving users problems.

If someone really feels the need to file a complaint> do it by email or phone directly to ACR. I promise they will take every complaint serious. Just filling up the forum with these matters, and others doing their "+1" or "i agree" or........... doesn't help anyone.

This forum was made for problems and solutions, questions and answer ("no" and "i don't know" are also answers). Not for complaints, even though we allow them and respond to them..

Thanks for your understanding thoug, and: no i don't get paid, nor do the other mods (blue names).. :D

I read your post, but I dont understand your comment as calling it "not my problem"?!

Why should we care whether its your problem or not..

We just want a working media player, that does what was promised on the box!
Video formats, music formats, containers..
And we want the wlan and internet function running.
Me personally would like a browser.

And we were informend updated firmware would come end of last year.
We are now in the 2e month the next year.

We want the full machine's potential, you cant blame that on us.
And yes, we like the machine, as you are right, thats why we moan so much.

But.. come on AC Ryan guys, get the move on..
Do your thing..

We are waiting!!
