Hi,

I have upgraded my playonhd to the latest firmware (PV73100_v7.06.r1757)
Now i can not play any 6ch mkv files anymore.
The 6 channel sound output as 2 channel (stereo).
I got the playon connected with spdif to my surround receiver. Do not have this problem with the previous firmware.

Here's some more specs from my Playon!HD:
-internal WD6400AAAVS 640GB Harddisk
-board 1073DD
-Bootloader 0000 0202 0015

You need to provide more information. What is the audio codec? What is your audio setup (settings)?

nevermind...forgot to set the audio to spdif raw again.

Interesting, I am having the same problem but my setting is to SPDIF RAW. I have tried to switch to other settings for the audio and back again but to no avail. I note some files are OK and others not. The only common factor between the ones not playing is I see they say AAC 6ch. I will post more details on the files that are not OK tonight, and also some on the ones that are similar but are OK.

I noticed this problem after I upgraded to the latest firmware. But I had not tried to play these particular problem files with the older firmware. Anyhow I will play around more tonight, and try to get some more detailed info on the audio codecs used.

OK I have the PlayOn connected to my Samsung 42 inch plasma TV via HDMI, and coax to Onkyo receiver (this can decode both Dolby and DTS). Setting in Playon is SPDIF RAW audio and HDMI video. Foirmware is latest, and chip is DD.

Problem is that when it goes through to tthe receiver it is only 2 channel and very low volume at that. I can play other MKVs with proper 5.1 through to the receiver.

So the conclusion is there are problems with AAC audio format in 5.1 for MKVs.

Hi, I experience with the same problem. WHen ever there is AAC 6ch sound from my MKV files. It will only output 2 channels(Left & Right, without center,surround and subs) sound if i pass thru to my Denon reciever via HDMI. It will give me a proper stereo if I set it to HDMI LPCM.

Like what Douglas experienced, my files having the same/similar audio codec to the details he posted.

Incidentally I converted these files to AC3 and play no problems with 6 channel sound through the same setup.

I have been able t play a mkv with 2 channel AAC sound.
