Re: Can not play 6ch. surround mkv files anymore after update
OK I have the PlayOn connected to my Samsung 42 inch plasma TV via HDMI, and coax to Onkyo receiver (this can decode both Dolby and DTS). Setting in Playon is SPDIF RAW audio and HDMI video. Foirmware is latest, and chip is DD.
Problem is that when it goes through to tthe receiver it is only 2 channel and very low volume at that. I can play other MKVs with proper 5.1 through to the receiver.
Problem file details as follows (details sourced from PC via MastrokaDiag):
First One:File size : 2.21 GB

Second one is:Writing application : mkvmerge v2.2.0 ('Turn It On Again') built on Mar 4 2008 12:58:26

Sucessful 5.1 passthrough file as follows (for comparison sake):Writing application : mkvmerge v2.3.0 ('Freak U') built on Sep 8 2008 18:32:16
Muxing application : libebml v0.7.7 + libmatroska v0.8.1

So the conclusion is there are problems with AAC audio format in 5.1 for MKVs.
