I have searched a long time through the forums, but i cant get it done.
The ext3 partition is 550mb (gparted live cd) but i cant install optware because of permissions.
Can i change some files so i do have permissions?
Or can i install optware on the disk with windows and put the disk back in the dvr-hd?
Or is there maybe a fixed firmware for the pv76120 with install/write permissions?
Or maybe there is an old(er) firmware which allows me to install optware (downgrading) ?
I know, a lot of questions but can i have sabnzbd on the playon dvr-hd (76120)
thanks in advance You should ask moderators to create 'Other developments' section for your player also. Many people here (including me) don't own DVR, so it's difficult to give help for device we don't have. I believe you can install Optware on your media player, because some users did it. Perhaps you should ask user TieMichael as he's got experience with customizing DVR firmware.

@MIKKA.. great work!! It's really strange, as I didn't changed anything related to it, but glad it's solved. About performance: I can't really do anything about it. I've played many files via Youtube (even in HD) and most of the times had absolutely no buffering. I don't know what's your connection type (wired/wireless) and internet speed from network provider.

1. Now i can't copy/move files with the native "files copy" feautre. when pressing the "copy" the devise reboost... any advise here?
2. How can i use the midenight commander? where do i start it from? where can i find it?
3. what is the default user/pass using telnet?

I succeded with the MC and telnet. Regarding the file copy - i tried both locations. from usb to hdd, from hdd to usb and from hdd to hdd. Each time, after select the files (*) and then selected "copy" - the device rebooted.
