Re: [How to] use and setup the YAMJ trial version.
Hi I'm on software version 7.3.6.r4624. I'm planning on plugging my hdd, straight in to my playon HD mini and then using yamj or thumbgen. It depends on which is easier to do and what's looks better. So any advice from someone who's done it is great

YAMJ and Thumbgen do different things. Thumbgen geenrates info pages for movies / TV series as images you can view in the browser. YAMJ provides the pages that the movie jukebox function in the GUI uses to provide the jukebox views and info pages. My own prefeerence is YAMJ as it integrates into the GUI and gives a better experience You'll also find there are devotees of Thumbgen as well

Is this possible on my firmware and with an external Thanks again

YAMJ should work on your firmware and with an external drive - but you will need to connecty the drive to a PC to run YAMJ and generate the index / jukebox files

Ok that's great. Is it just case of install the yamj software on the pc, hook up the external hdd, run the program then save, plug the hdd back into the playon mini and then enter the movie jukebox. A lot of my films and tv series are in folders is this ok .

Re: [How to] use and setup the YAMJ trial version.
I would download and install the YAMJ version on the AC Ryan support page - I would also read the wiki carefullly first - specifically the parts about file naming, use of .nfo files, TV series etc - so that you make sure YAMJ pulls the right info off the various internet sites.

I've been reading through and I'm not sure if I'm trying to do something that's not possible. I'm trying to set yamj up on my mini with an external drive without an Internet connection. Does the mini need a Internet connection for it

Re: [How to] use and setup the YAMJ trial version.
Hi The wiki is here http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/w/list. YAMJ installs onto your PC and you will need the external drive connected to the PC before running the GUI to set up YAMJ for the first time. When Running YAMJ to generate the index.html file and jukebox directory, this again is done on the PC, with the drive connected, and YAMJ uses various internet sites such as IMDB and TheTVDB to download the data for it's pages Once YAMJ has run you can connect the drive back to your mini, and from the Jukebox section of the GUI, browse to index.html and then allow the mini to update it's jukebox files each time you update YAMJ

Re: [How to] use and setup the YAMJ trial version.
Like I said thanks again for the help. I've experimented using one film on a USB stick and it worked fine, got to say it was really easy. So then I tried doing my 1.2 tb worth of films I clicked on the file extension on the the drive in windows and it loaded up the yamj cover art a couple of the films had the wrong cover but it was a start. I then connected the drive to the playon and I'm updating the library. How long will this take it's been on 20 mins or so. And what can I do about the wrong cover, just make sure it's named the same as imdb
