You're probably running a firmware which has no free space anymore (something the development team decided in their eternal wisdom) There's still a way to install it. Either you patch your firmware or you download one which already has been patched. Thx Same error here. I wanted to install Sabnzbd, but can't even install the required Optware. 3rd partition is increased and can't be the problem, it seems the linux partition is read only because I also can not create a directory with mkdir... Anyone who knows how to fix this? A simple mount -o remount,rw / doesn't work. Kind regards.

Optware is installed correctly and completely. But when I install Sabnzbd I get an error...: First lines are executed with no problem, but when I get to the end I get this: service sabnzbd on -sh: service: not found service sabnzbd start -sh: service: not found The optware package of sabnzbd is displayed in infosite as installed package... Does anyone have an idea what's going on? Kkind regards.

Sorry for the maybe stupid question: But where can I find the 'h'-version? Is there an 'h'-version for the Playon!DVR? Thank you!

Re: [HOW TO] install optware and get transmission, twonky
Hello. I just reflashed my Patriot Box Office to the 4824 firmware, and it seems great.
I am trying to install optware, but there doesn't seem to be enough room when I run the ryanopt script.
Here is my df:
Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/root 137088 102680 34408 75% / /dev/mtdblock/2 18432 4676 13756 25% /usr/local/etc /dev/rd/0 40 40 0 100% /mnt/rd /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1 311660996 78476 311582520 0% /tmp/hdd/volumes/HDD1 /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part3 537604 34252 476044 7% /tmp/hdd/root /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part3 537604 34252 476044 7% /usr/local/bin/scripts
Is there a way to install optware on the HDD? I tried greating a symlink from /opt to /tmp/hdd/volumes/HDD1/opt, but the script died. It can't create the necessary symlinks across the physical disks.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Sorry the noise, I figured it out. For some reason there was an existing /opt symlinked to a directory under the flash file system, when I removed it, and restarted the ryanopt script, it ran fine.

Could not install on r4824 and also r3582 /etc/protocols: Permission denied I was unable to write to /etc/protocols Exiting..., installation failed! The problem is that /etc partition is read only. Any help ???

You could try the following: 1) copy the current contents of /etc/* to /usr/local/etc/etc/ 2) add whatever needed to /usr/local/etc/etc 3) mount -o bind /usr/local/etc/etc /etc
This works for me ...
