Every music file a play (mp3, flac, whatever) starts at an offset of about 1 or 2 seconds. That means that i never hear the first 1 or two seconds of a song, pretty darn annoying. It also seems that the time counter is not correct.
Is there anyone who is going to fix this? Same here, all audio looses around 2 seconds at start. I cannot find a solution at the forums here and this firmware does not fix it. At the moment i am at the point of choosing between an RMA for repairing the device or reporting a factory problem for a complete replacement / money back. Anyone a solution?

Guys, is it just me or am I still seeing microstutter while watching 1080p .mkv files using this firmware? Anyone here who has managed to eliminate the stutter with certain settings? Thanks.

 Re: [Release Candidate] ACR-PV73100 v7.3.x.r4824 Playon!HD
Succumbed to my curiosity and installed this firmware on my Po!HD 73100 P+, and so far i havent experienced any issues. One new feature i found was the "Screen Size" setting, where one can adjust the screen, im curious should i adjust it so that the red lines are barely invisible or fully visible? I set it up so that they are just outside the screen(using Composite to connect to a Thomson 32WR100 CRT TV), and with this setting i no longer have to use the zoom feature of my CRT, it's standard 16:9 mode looks great, but i have a feeling i might be missing information on the outer edges of the image. Any documentation or usage tips for the screen size setting when using Composite? Also, and i could very well be way off here(i.e hearing things) but audio seems a bit stronger with DRC(Night Mode) set to Off. Before i always had to have it set at Comfort to get even close to a usable signal over Analog stereo out, but with this new fw i was able to dial it back to On or even Off on some movies. I guess i'm a minority, always listening to stereo downmix and watching via Composite. I dont believe this is related to the firmware, but i get errors when copying files via USB, sometimes the copies work fine, but often i get errors about the file not being able to be written. This results in corruption of the NTFS file system, and frequent CHKDSKs. Being a mac user i just fire up XP in Parallels and connect the Po!HD directly to the virtual machine and run it from there. Always the same errors when corruption has occured, volume bitmap is corrupted and gets fixed. Once with this new fw, after a copy of several files failed about 80% through, the whole contents of the directory i was copying disappeared, this particular fault never happened before. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to try other formats for the data partition, ive read a few users on here using ext2, and even one i think using hfs+(although it wasnt supported or recommended). Despite frequent corruptions, CHKDSK seems to always get it back in order and files once lost reappear. Ideally i'd like less corruptions but wouldnt trade it for lower chance of recovery. NTFS does seem highly fixable, at least so far(knock on wood). best, krille

Thanks. Hello. What POHD settings are you using? How is the POHD connected to your other bits - tv, av amp, etc.? I have had microstutter for donks, or at least a few yonks anyway, depending on the firmware. I am not using the latest firmware and different settings with different firmware can have different results. My setting, using HDMI to the tv, is HDMI Auto and 24p off. However, in previous firmware, I have had 24p on to stop the stutter. Nearly every time I update the firmware I set the HDMI to 60Hz before setting it to Auto. Cheers. A.V.

This is just a cosmetic solution. On 60 Hz, 23.976p and 24p materials are played on higher framerate what cause a little bit "shaky" motion. The ideal solution would be to play these movies on their native framerate to reach maximal smoothness. But, the player currently can't set the output to 23.976, it uses 24 Hz instead what cause microstuttering on every approx. 40 seconds. It's a well known problem, while Sigma has solved this, Realtek still hasn't. We are still waiting for the perfect SDK...

Wow. Well, in any case, I hope it's POSSIBLE for Realtek to fix the issue. Really guys, you can add twenty jukeboxes or whatever but the real issue with this player is that it still does not PLAY MEDIA PERFECTLY. Which is what it is supposed to do flawlessly, if you ask me. Oh well.

Just a small Question...
Is it sure that the new GUI 2.0 FW comes for the POHD 73100?
...and when it's right, what is the Date for the new awesome FW?

Last news was: new GUI + FW would come together (logically), first for the HD Essential, which is out. And then the POHD. Estimated: last week of December/first week of January, unless any troubles occur.
No further updates have been given on it's progress. Which would be nice to have. And if that would be our christmas present from AC Ryan, I'm keen to hear that there's a present awaiting for us :p

Oh well. Talking of improving to play Media: I just had a file that is a direct copy from a video camcorder, which the POHD refused to play. According to VLC the following codecs have been used: Video: DV Video (dvsd), 720x576, 25 frames Audio: PCM S16 LE (araw), Stereo, 32000 Hz, 16 bits/sample Any plans to support that format? Jörg
