Post Re: [Release Candidate] ACR-PV73200 v7.3.x.r4824 Playon!HD Mini
Hi, I installed the new v7.3.x.r4824 FW and I have the following problem:
I can't access the HDD plugged to the POHD's USB from my PC - it reports "The network path was not found".
NAS is activated and I can copy files from my PC to POHD using the POHD's copy function. I configured a static IP for POHD (10.0.0.2).

I did the following just after copying some movies using POHD's copy function:
1) I pressed the POHD's remote Home key (I mean I switched to POHD's menu) then I went to my PC
2) I opened the command promt (cmd) and I tried "ping 10.0.0.2" -> OK
3) I tried to open \\10.0.0.2 (from Start -> Run) -> it reports "The network path was not found"
4) I tried to find POHD share using "My Network Places" -> I found only my PC
5) I tried to access "usb1 on Samba 3.0.23c (10.0.0.2)" - the link existing in "My Network Places" and created while having the previous FW (PV73200_v7.3.6.r3582_European - existing when I bought the POHD) -> it reports "The network path was not found"

I have Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] - these 5 steps were working with PV73200_v7.3.6.r3582_European.

@adrhc

Try this link in IE file://playonhd/usb1/ if this don´t work, try rebooting your router.

I have no router, my PC is connected directly to POHD using a network wire.
I did the following:
1) POHD's static ip is 10.0.0.2:
Code:
ping 10.0.0.2
Pinging 10.0.0.2 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 10.0.0.2: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=64
Reply from 10.0.0.2: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
Reply from 10.0.0.2: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 10.0.0.2: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64

2) I opened a IE window then tried (unsuccessfully):

Again please notice that I can copy files from my PC using POHD's copy function.
Any other idea ?

The main persistent issues are:
- still blocking HDMI CEC so must use component video and optic audio
- no music audio at all on optic so I can't listen to any music

Oh no! I've just ordered one of these to replace my Hisense MP800H that cripples the HDMI CEC on my AV setup (Onkyo TX-SR508, Sky+ HD, Panasonic Viera TX-L42D25B).

Do I need to cancel my order?

Is this a firmware issue or a hardware issue ?

If this is a firmware issue when can we expect a fix? This is a MAJOR fault.

I really don't want to be modifying HDMI cables.

I look forward to some good news.

You should cancel your order because it seems like ACRyan does not care to fix this.

This release plays movies very nice for me, but why is this "Screen size" setting in the Video menu 1232x694 even though I know that my screen is a 1080p screen, and I have to zoom out to "FIT" on the remote to get the picture size that should be there from the start? And please give me the new GUI, I can't take this! Didn't the blog say early december?

setup->screen size->adjust red rectangle (doesnt show screen res) = setting this red rectangle to the every edge of the screen calibrates the zoom function (fill/fit/stretch) for video playback

For those of you who are using the release candidate firmware:

1 - Can you now save your "network path" so that you don't have to manually navigate all the way to the NAS every time you want to use it?

2 - Full YAMJ support and custom skins?

3 - MKV issue sorted out?

Thanks in advance!

Can anyone comment on this please?

A tip on on the 'Hardware not known, cannot function' message.
I noticed that when the SPDIF cable is unplugged it will start without that message, but with the cable plugged in, it will generate the 'hardware not known' message.
Did anyone else also notice this?

This may help the developers to solve this specific problem.
