A.C.Ryan Team - thank you for this update.

Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere, i know I asked about it in the past but do you know if there is any intention to support Control for HDMI on this unit?

It causes me so many problems with my Sony Home Theatre stand, probably an issue with Sony but I think it is because this unit does not support it, it screws up all my other inputs on the Theatre Stand and I have to do a re-set on the stand after each time I use the PlayOnHD. Other devices work fine with the Sony Theatre stand.

:dremel: Just to report a bug. My Mini's hanged sometime when I move selection down the list and I suspect that it causes by the Preview option. It seemed like the mini can not render the image or movie in preview so it stops working. Sometime if I waited a long while it will be okay again. It used to be in the old FW you can choose to preview only image in folder and not movie, but not that option is gone. Hope that can be fixed before release cause I'm too lazy to get up to unplug the thing everytime that's happened. Thank :dremel: :geek:

[mod edit] no need for capitals, removed font size 50 tag [/end mod edit]

This release plays movies very nice for me, but why is this "Screen size" setting in the Video menu 1232x694 even though I know that my screen is a 1080p screen, and I have to zoom out to "FIT" on the remote to get the picture size that should be there from the start? And please give me the new GUI, I can't take this! Didn't the blog say early december?

Ok, as a new user, i'm finding it a little baffling to work out the release train based on the version numbers..

Is there a complete version history anywhere please?

For example, my new mini arrived with v7.3.6 r4624 - where does this fit in as I can't find any reference to my version apart from in the dutch forums..

i notice video bug in this 4824,

if i set to 24Hz, sometimes i see some flickering on the top of the video, the symptom is look like the top part of the video is not syncronized with the rest of the part.

i notice this flicker on the 3582, but not happening in 4415, also not happening on older SDK's 4312

That's why i'm revering back to 4415

(sorry cannot get screenshot of it)

the video portion that is flickering is the same horizontal position as the in-movie GUI (Play /Pause icon)

maybe this in-movie GUI has something to do with the Bug. Please check it,

TBH, overall i felt the older SDK firmware (4312) is better, but i notice video image improvement (more sharper) on the new SDK, and file copying is running fine (old SDK copying from HD to HD always corrupt)

Keep the good jobs guys :)

I have flashed from r4415 to 4824 and experienced the same thing with the stability of video.
Reverted back to 4415 as this seems to be the best one for me at the moment ;-)

Again I tested the new release ... (because I couldn't play some DTS encoded mkv otherwise)
Again I reverted back to 4312 (old SDK)

Always the same reason , NAS / Samba instability using USB drive.

I can't use NAS / Samba on new firmwares for more than a few hours before it stops working without any reason.
4312 is for me the best stable release there is with regards to NAS / Samba

So what's the difference between NAS / Samba implementation on old sdk 4312 and new sdk 4824 ?

Also, when the NAS / Samba issue arise on 4312 , a firmware re-install does the trick of solving the issue for a few weeks. On 4312 when you re-flash 4312 using the Setup / System Upgrade , the settings are kept (Wifi key , Preview settings , HDMI settings , ...). On the new firmwares , when re-flashing (which also temporarily solve the NAS / Samba issue) , all the settings are always lost for me, which is a real pain in the a**.

Any help would be appreciated

@stuart,
could you please describe how all is connected,
and what your video and audio settings on the playonhd are,

if then still the HD sound can`t be heard when using hdmi 1080P @50Hz

try reinstalling the same firmware once again,
my suggestion would be the r4824,
as here on the sound it is the most stable version,
but i do had to reinstall the firmware to.

;)

My POHD Mini is connected to my Sony audio receiver with a HDMI cable.

Video System: HDMI Auto
HDMI Audio: Passthrough

I reinstalled r4824 by going thro r4415 (Safe Mode) -> r3582 (System Update) -> r4824 (System Update). Sill no avail. HD audio still get downmixed to stereo when playing BD-ISO. MKV's HD audio works fine though.

I am back on r4415. I don't see any improvement in this RC. Disappointing!

In the main menu where you can select network, dvd, etc.. it's hard to see what is selected. There is a thin green rectangle round the selected device, but it hardly visible. ...

I agree.
