Re: [Release Candidate] ACR-PV73200 v7.3.x.r4824 Playon!HD Mini
After flashing back to r3582 I succesfully updated to this r4824 release candidate. Besides noticing the issue in the subtitles (please fix that), I would recommended making the selection box in the first screen of the browser much clearer, preferably with a user selectable colour. The green rectangle is much too subtle to see from a distance . This is the reason why my wife asked me to flash back to the 4312 firmware..... I would rather keep the new firmware, mainly because of the better audio options (separate HDMI and SP/DIF settings).

I know that music is not optimized with this release but there is an issue with multi-channel PCM (Flac, AAC) via HDMI (Passthrough) that was ok with SDK 2. The output is only 2 channel!!!. This happens also in mkv-files with multi-channel AAC as audio track.

Not sure what you mean since you are saying PCM and passthrough as synonyms, where in fact they are mutually exclusive. What I am experiencing, and perhaps you as well, is that audio most usually only gets acknowledged as 6ch in the receiver when using PT, with MC-PCM it reads as 2ch. It has been like this for all mkvs I have tested. However, when I loaded an mp4 (I'll have to come back with what codecs what used, if necessary), I only had 2ch with PT, and had to switch to MC-PCM for 6ch..

My understanding is, that there are three different ouput modes for the HDMI interface: 1. Passthrough: POHD sents any signal as it is (raw) via the HDMI to the AV receiver and lets the AV receiver decide how to decode. That means DTS as DTS, Dolby (AC3) as Dolby and PCM (wav, flac, aac=mp4, mp3 etc) as PCM 2. LPCM 2 Channel => POHD converts any signal to 2 channel PCM (including DTS and Dolby) 3. LPCM Multi Channel => POHD converts any signal to PCM (including DTS and Dolby) With my favorite HDMI setting (=Passthrough) i noticed that DTS and Dolby is outputted well so that the AV receiver can decode it. POHD sents the raw data to the AV receiver. But: Not with multi channel PCM (i tested multi channel flac and aac and MKV-embedded AAC). In this case POHD converts the multi channel to 2 channel!!! Anyone fine with my understanding and the detected error in this firmware?

same issue with Thumgen as posted before: After scrolling for several movies, it will freeze and return a black screen. Only solution: un-plug the power and replug to use it again.

Anyone fine with my understanding and the detected error in this firmware? no i am not as i tested this with Flac 7.1 and aac7.1 files and on hdmi multi channel pcm, the receiver told me it was a 7.1 audio stream. on hdmi passthrough however these same files where indeed seen as two channel audio pcm files by my receiver. so in short for all digital audio like DTS and DOLBY use HDMI-passthrough, for all PCM aac and Flac multitichannel audio use HDMI-lpcm multi channel, for mp3 files use hdmi dual lpcm channel or even the multichannel pcm. that is what my test came up with. but if you do encounter these problems however, see if it helps to reinstall the exact same firmware again on the playon, some times it can help.. BTW i tested in the r4090, r4368 r4415 and the r4824 firmwares, did not test this in the r3582 as i only had it on my boxes for a few day`s,

As in older firmwares with SDK 2 POHD should sent PCM multi channel audio also with HDMI mode "Passthrough". And this is indeed a bug because it does not work. The setting via HDMI mode "LPCM Multi Channel" is only a uncomfortable workaround.

Re: [Release Candidate] ACR-PV73200 v7.3.x.r4824 Playon!HD Mini
Hi I've been happily running on r4824 for a few days with no problems - then today there is no output on the HDMI port. I've tried powering the box on / off with nothing plugged in, and also gone back to both r4415 and then r3582 firmware - still no HDMI output - I've tried another HDMI cable into a different port on the TV - with no result. There is an HDMI auto setting in the menu - but it is always 'greyed out' I can't select it - but can select other items. Currently running on the composite video output Any ideas appreciated, otherwise I'll have to assume the box is faulty and get it swapped. Edit After leaving everything powered down overnigt - it all works again . Maybe I'll find out what it was at somepoint - still at lease I can watch movies in HD again

The firmware works better then the previous one,but the issue with the optical cable is still not solved. How is it possible that my audio is not going trough the optical cable anymore?
I selected "passtrough" on the hdmi like before

Re: [Release Candidate] ACR-PV73200 v7.3.x.r4824 Playon!HD Mini
For those of you who are using the release candidate firmware:
1 - Can you now save your "network path" so that you don't have to manually navigate all the way to the NAS every time you want to use it?
2 - Full YAMJ support and custom skins?
3 - MKV issue sorted out?
Thanks in advance!
