This HDMI setting does the trick here! Perfect HD audio without problems anymore! Keep up the good work. The audio setting workaround does not work for my case. I have reverted back to r4415. Hopefully, the "fix" in r4415 will be back in the final firmware release. And yes, real Dolby True HD support as advertised. Thanks.

@cue , you`re welcome @stuart, could you please describe how all is connected, and what your video and audio settings on the playonhd are, if then still the HD sound can`t be heard when using hdmi 1080P @50Hz try reinstalling the same firmware once again, my suggestion would be the r4824, as here on the sound it is the most stable version, but i do had to reinstall the firmware to.

 Re: HARDWARE ERROR SOLVED
dahl wrote: Hello I have solved the 'Hardware error' , this is how. When i used the fail safe method, i could not get any further than the first ACRYAN screen logo. The mini freezed. So i downgraded my mini to the PV73200_v7.3.6.r4090. using the system upgrade function, And now the same error appeared, in the 4090. So i started to think some more. Then i did the following. 1. I did a fail safe firmware update, to downgrade to PV73200_v7.0.21.r4312 2. when the mini freezed during the startup in the failsafe method, i unplugged the USB-Stick, and plugged it back in, and now it was recognized by the mini. and the firmware downgrade began and installed with no problems 3. I then upgraded to PV73200_v7.3.6.r3582 with the system upgrade. 4. I finally upgrade to the newest PV73200_v7.3.6.r4824 firmware. with the system upgrade. I have now no problem at all with this annoying HARDWARE ERROR, i have tried every possible way to get the error again, (turn off , etc.) But it is gone...... I do really hope i with this, can help anyone to get rid off this annoying error. Regards Morten I follow this tip at 100% and the error appear 3 hours later after having switch it off. I'm 100% sure it's not a hardware probleme : it's firmware!!! Since the sdk3 based firmwares, I have the "Sorry! Unknown Hardware! The firmware can't work!" message when the playon mini is off for hours. For example, I used it à 10AM then switch off and switch it on later at 1PM : the error message appear! I unplug alim and replug it and switch it on again : no message !!!! Is there a possibility that some chips takes time to "works" (maybe too cold after long switch off) and are not recognize when the sdk3 firmware test it? For information, when I used the 4312 firmware I never had this message. Sine 3582 I have it.... Attention : after unplug alim and replug it and reswitch on, EVERYTHING WORKS FINE. I can switch it off. Wait a little and switch it on again with no message at all. SO ! AC RYAN team. Is it so difficult to look in your code where and why this message appear. You will have a clue to know wich whip to check and maybe, make a 10 secondes tempo before the test. That's an idea. A good one I think

Mozi wrote: I have Thumbgen problem with r4824. After scrolling for several movies, it will freeze and return a black screen. I have to un-plug the power and replug to use it again.
The thing is, sometimes it happens sometimes it doesnt. If i scroll very fast, very likely it will happen.
Reverted to 4312 Correct, I have exactly the same issue, the only resolution is to unplug the power. I am looking forward to a fix for this since all other versions worked correctly before. There is still another issue with Thumbgen, when you scroll through all thumbgen sheets (by pressing the slow button and the arrows) and select a movie by pressing enter the wrong movie is started. It usually happens if you have selected a move before and start scrolling again.

The problem with Thumbgen you are mentioning I am also having in 4415 version. So I guess, it's still in the new FW.

Have you tried to press "tvsys" button some times on your remote? Or using an AVcable instead of the hdmi cable to your Sony tv during upgrade? I would try flashing 3582 Thx. I tried both but no solution. Re-Flashing 3582 worked once, the POHD freezes after boot screen and no more flash is possible. Guess that might be a hardware problem?

Download 4415 and do a safe flash
Safe-mode flashing procedure (Recommended) 1. Copy install.img to the root directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to any USB host port of the unit 2. Switch off the main power to the unit 3. Press and hold on to the power button on the front panel of the unit 4. Switch on the main power 5. Release the power button when the firmware update starts flashing on your display in a moment and will automatically reboot when update is completed **Do not power off the unit during the flashing process!**
Download 3582 and do a normal flash Download 4828 and do a normal flash Normal flashing procedure 1. Copy install.img to the root directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to any USB host port of the unit 2. Enter the Setup menu, System, System Update, System Upgrade and Enter to confirm. 3. The firmware update will start flashing on your display in a moment and will automatically reboot when update is completed **Do not power off the unit during the flashing process!**
The HDMI connection may reset after updating the firmware and may go out of sync with your display Press the TV SYS button on the remote a few times to sync with a compatible display mode if this happen Once the display is back, we recommend setting to HDMI Auto in the video setup menu unless other modes are preferred

 Re: HARDWARE ERROR SOLVED
Hello A little update I have now had the update installed for some days, before the hardware error was everytime i turned on the mini. now it has occurred once in the last 3 days. and it was shortly after i plugged in my HDD from an update, my hdd is formatted as NTFS. I unplug the mini every night, so it is switched off completely. I have noticed the same with tumbgen, so i have to set preview to off, and then it works with press slowplay button teeace wrote: dahl wrote: Hello I have solved the 'Hardware error' , this is how. Tried to flash 4415 in safe mode, which was first unable. After unput and put of USB stick POHD rebooted 2. Tried to flash 3582 with normal flash which succeeded ("Install completed") but after reboot POHD freezes after boot screen again 3. Tried to flash 4828 in safe mode => Succeed!!! Summary: Flashing from SDK 2 to SDK 3 was demanding and faulty. Hope that future FW releases can be flashed easier!
