Just got the ACR last week with r3582 and finding my way around. Normally, simple, thin manuals mean little to do but boy was I wrong!
I installed the latest r4824, (after 4368 beta) and BitTorrent worked. However, I lost the video output selection from setup and despite selecting 1080p, the TV still only detected 576i!!, and there was no way of selecting any other resolution. So films not looking so good.
Liked the new browser remote - it works from my android phone tho' a proper app would be nice.
I merged YAMJ 2.2 files and directories with those installed by the ACR 1.0.2 installer and this seems to have resolved issues regarding VIDEO_TS.IFO entries missing from film_name.xmls, although this may be because it is skipping existing entries, and not reprocessing them. I will try adding a new title.
Because of the lack of choice of resolution I went back to the 4368 beta. BT therefore not working (but as yet not a big loss to me), and my choice of TV resolutions are back.
From a non technical point, the browser, BT and file copy would, I think be better in a password protected setup area. Also although the browser will userids/remember passwords in favourites when wishing to link to shared folders across network, I have to enter picasa login every time. OK may want to go to other logins but that could be put in as a menu choice.
Does reinstalling a older firmware completely remove the older one? r4824 seemed to introduce plasma option in set up and it was still there when going back to r4368 but I couldn't remember if it was introduced in r4368.

But it would be nice if someone continued to develop, that Blu-ray menu can be called up! This is a very good thing, the DVD menu. I think.
The Blu-ray would be the top menu!
Is a film that is cinema, and director version.
They do not get along without a menu.
... And if this little machine takes so well to the Blu-Ray, you can also add menu!

THe time seek bar has gone, the changelog reads. But in the former beta, it was back. What does this mean? Is it in the r4824 FW present or gone ?!?!

Well, I think i'm keeping this one. I'm not completely satisfied, but it will do for now.

Especially the GUI is really bad. I like the main menu, but de browser menu is really ugly and very unpleasant to look at.

Also there are still the sound issues: 2 channel mp3 sound won't work in the SPDIF passthrough setting. So every time I want to listen to some music I have to change my audio settings.

Mysteriously some features are gone: you can't change the time settings anymore.
Login control for BT is still present, but you can't change the settings. So you need to use the standard login and password (admin, 123).

Bittorrent works perfectly though! (downloadspeed up to 500 kb/s) I can download again since a long time with my playon. In the meantime i had to download with my pc, but I don't like to have my pc on all day.

My mkv files also work (at least the ones I tried). No hanging yet while browsing through my tumbgens.

I guess that's it for my review. I hope the SDK4 en GUI2.0 will soon be available. The screenshots on the website look promissing!

sad but it's confirmed.

the torrent software is still buggy... you have to unplug the unit if it hooks up and you loose everything that has been downloaded so far. if you delete torrent from the web admin it doesn't delete the downloaded data but if you stop the torrent (Even if the don't delete torrents is checked) it deletes data.

can't we just pick another torrent client? this on obviously sucks....

Just put it on a usb-stick and flash it with the normal procedure.

ehm.... can't say your wrong. But...
I didn't lose any data (and never lost data) .. give the btclient some time after "unpluging the powercord and reboot" and it recovers itselve (and the running torrents).
That is my experience.

As for the data allready on disk... it's allready on the filesystem.. so normaly it shouldn't be affected by just unplugging the powercord. affected files are only the ones open for write..

Just took a look at the POHD with telnet.. I thought the HDD was formated as EXT3.. I'm not quit sure now..
In fact i'm wrong about that one.
In the fstab and mtab file and using fdisk i see someting different "UFSD".
It is NTFS, "root partition"however is EXT3.
And i believe that is where the torrent client drops it's temporary files.
But this fact won't make a great difference to what i wrote : I never lost data due to unplugging the powercord.
the device allready hung.. was locked up .. so it allready doesn't do anything with the disk at that time.

please add a feature for watching web tv. sop cast or just strems if its possible or flash sreams.
it will be very good. also streams for winamp like radios. etc



other features are excelent no remarks,

Loaded this beta and notice the following
1. Cursor position is now more visible at browse menu, hope ac will fix it at the device selection menu too.
2. Like the list mode option
3. Seem more stable and does not freeze when browsing the file... (need further testing)
4. For MP3 audio, just temporary connect a pair of RCA to amp and switch to anolog input; I find it easier
as compare to setting the audio option from ac box.
5. The subtitle control character <xxxx> issue is NOT fixed.
6. Not using BT and NFS, so I don;t test it.

btw, I have a chance to try the new essential box using new SDK4. the interface is better but it is not as responsive as compare the this beta. anyway, that might be realtek issue again...
