The optic audio/SPDIF issue is not resolved or mentioned in the changelog so it's still there. We can't fix this without the help of realtek and a new SDK. This has been mentioned before as well. You have to switch between audio output settings: Passthrough/LPCM Multi/Dual channel when you go from several channel mode to 2c mode if you stick with SDK 3.0.

That's true, just wanted to note it's still an issue. Switching between Passthrough/LPCM Multi/Dual channel makes no difference, I can't hear audio using SPDIF output :(

On an unrelated issue, but one with this new firmware; bringing up the subtitles menu while a (HD - not tried SD) film is playing causes the video and audio to constantly stutter, everything settles down again when the menu is no longer on-screen. Subtitles work well other than that.

Thanks again :)

I have managed to put the tiniest strip (1mm) of scotch tape on pin 13 on HDMI connector. I cut the tape in a swallowtail first. Then I used a needle to manoeuvre the slice of tape above pin 13 and stick it on pin 13 to isolate it.

Hi Maarten,

I spotted the same thing and tried it out... I don't think I'm dexterous enough to pull it as it didn't seem to work for me  I tried isolating the cable-end though, might give your method on the pin a go... cheers 8-)

Hi Harro,

You said the Win7 and BT problems are solved but it see the following after installation the r4824 FW:

On my win7 system I don't see the mini on the "thuisgroep", but yes I see it under netwerk, so I can acces the mini from my PC.

BitTorrent is solved you said, but there is nothing in the menu's where I can choose that, and there is also no npossibility to load external software in the mini for BT.

regards
Wim

AFAIK BitTorrent is only for the big brother - standard PoHD. Mini never had this function. AC Ryan team mentions it, because it's a copy/paste post from PoHD topic. Both devices are so similar, that the firmware can be published at the same time, because Mini version requires only small modifications.
I would also love to see BT or (even more preferably) Usenet downloads working on Mini, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Anyways, downloading now, will share some thoughts after I install it.
Too bad the sound is still not fixed.

Hello,

The BitTorrent is not available for the Mini. It was a 'typo' since we copy/pasted the same message to all our firmware/player releases. I did modify the post though. Sorry for that! :/

No audio? How are you connected and what AVR are you using? What are your video system and audio output settings. Do you get sound with any other way? HDMI/composite etc? Any other firmware that gives you SPDIF audio?

I can not reproduce the subtitle/stutter on any quality/file so far.

Works perfect, good work (..but still present subtitle tags BUG - can this be solved???)

I'll keep testing :D !!

Now it's time to sleep ..!

Hello!

I'm not sure why the subtitle tags was not fixed for this version. I will find out more about this since to me this is not a big issue. Reporting this!

Tomorrow I'll install the new firmware.

Congrats PlayonHD team. I think you are the only one who is doing regular firmware updates for your products.

Br,

I'm talking about listening to music over SPDIF only, you told me "The optic audio/SPDIF issue is not resolved or mentioned in the changelog so it's still there." :) The audio for films is fine. Yes, I got sound for music (e.g. mp3s) over HDMI.

I only have subtitles on a few of my bluray rips, the same stuttering issue on each (only when the subtitle menu is displayed on-screen - not during normal playback). tsMuxer meta example:

MUXOPT --no-pcr-on-video-pid --new-audio-pes --vbr --vbv-len=500
V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC, "\\**FILMPATH**\Dead Snow (2009).m2ts", fps=25, insertSEI, contSPS, track=4113
A_DTS, "\\**FILMPATH**\Dead Snow (2009).m2ts", track=4352, lang=nor
A_LPCM, "\\**FILMPATH**\Dead Snow (2009).m2ts", track=4353, lang=nor
S_HDMV/PGS, "\\**FILMPATH**\Dead Snow (2009).m2ts",bottom-offset=24,font-border=2,text-align=center,video-width=1920,video-height=1080,fps=25, track=4608, lang=eng

If any other info would help just let me know what to send,
Cheers

Hello,
On my device SPDIF output working good. I have set LPCM dual channel. I don't know what is wrong on your device ChrisH. I have listen internet radio, mp3:s ja watch movies succesfully. Last couple firmwares i had SPDIF issue. My avr is denon avr-1706.

Before this firmware i was thinking to sell my device because this SPDIF issue but now i have changed my mind :D

Thank you to ACRyan team to adding Finnish menu language :P . It is good but there is still something what need correction i mean not best finnish language or something what is better say some other way.

Br, Ilkka
