The thing is: the loginscreen shouldn't be there, especially not when like in this case the subject is a streaming device.

It's a stupid thing to uninstall and reinstall some services (how can one who doesn't read this forum know?), but that trick doesn't even work for me. If there's no solution available, why make new features for a device while such a basic thing simply doesn't work?

Strange thing, I have the same problem since the last firmware update i did 2 days ago, I saw my vista pc fine before the upgrade....I can see my girlfriends wireless windows 7 laptop though in the network connections.

It all worked fine before the firmware upgrade...

But can you browse from your pc to your playon? or don't you have a hd drive in the playon?

Something changed in the latest firmware as I too can no longer see other "workgroups" in the network browser.

Past firmwares did not have this problem.

Correct, I have the same problem...crap. I downgraded to the august version and I can see my pc without any problem.

Just a recap as I've so far experienced nearly every problem listed in this post since the Firmware_PV73100_v7.06.r1757 (I had to try the Wifi N Dongle I just received).

N.B. to Trottle: your trick to solved the disappearing network groups and clients (i.e. uninstalling & installing the services) has worked for me.

Now: I'm running XP home SP3 on my machine. I set the appropriate guest account and shared a folder. POHD's HDD is fully accessible and files can be added, removed and altered from the PC. No network connection problems so far as the player gets an automatically assigned IP address from my DHCP router. Therefore I can open the Web server and also mount the POHD's HDD as a network drive on my PC.
On the POHD's side when trying to access the PC the Net User ID logon screen appears taking none of the account authentications valid on the PC. Systematically all usernames and passwords throw me out with "logon on" failed.

Could you please take this issue in consideration in the next firmware issue? Thanks to the AC RYAN Team...It's an awfully fine machine you came up with.

You enabled your guest account on the pc? Disabled firewall on the pc ?

Yes, I created the guestaccount according to the AC Ryan instructions. I don't use a firewall. Still I can't do anything on my PlayonHD, I think I'll return it if the shop will take it back. For me this product is completely useless if I can't use the streaming device for streaming.
