Hello, Updating the firmware will not cause your internal HDD to format, or be corrupted. If you have a healthy HDD and formatted it before using it with the player you have nothing to be worried about. Br,

 Re: [Release Candidate] ACR-PV73100 v7.3.x.r4824 Playon!HD
I have waited patiently and quietly for a firmware update without complaint, confident that AC Ryan would sort the various problems in the next release. You cannot imagine my dismay to find that the fundamental flaw in that stopped me using the last few releases is still present. Namely that if SPDIF is set to passthrough then 2 channel MP3 files still do not work via SPDIF!
To listen to an mp3 file SPDIF has to be set to LPCM Dual Channel which then means that all my movies have 2 channels only. It is simply not family friendly to expect kids and wives to mess around with system audio settings. This flaw means that the PlayOnHD is failing in its fundamental role i.e. to be a media player.
Please confirm that this issue will be fixed in the next firmware based on SDK 4.0. If not my PlayOn will be on Ebay!

This product gives me more and more a bad feeling. After skipping the last sdk3 firmwares i thougth to give it a trie. When scrolling with thumbgen the system hangs and i have to give it a hard reboot. In my last 4318 firmware it also hanged sometimes but after a few secconds at least you could continue. Also every time with a new firmware there are the known (not solved) issues like subtitles audio issues etc. Then there is the bonus that if some of these issues finally were solved they will appear again in a new sdk! It's really unbelievable. I was one off the first to buy a playon and every firmware it's the same promisses and more problems. Always blame it on the sdk but how simple is it to test if the bugs fixed in previous firmwares are still fixed

Hello, We have acknowledged this is an audio bug originating from realtek which is in a part of programming that is out of our control. Note that this audio bug in SKD3.0 affects ALL realtek-based media players. This release is still a SDK 3.0 just like every version from r. 3582. We know there are some bugs left, and the audio bug with SPDIF is still present. While we work on the new SDK4.0 , we still wanted to release this while people are waiting for SDK 4.0 because we still could fix some of the bugs as mentioned in the changelog. You can downgrade to r. 4318 if you want to get rid of the 2 channel/SPDIF issue. Br,

Connect it to your computer and check it, defrag it and/or even format it if you can backup your files. Then replug it to your TV and re-flash it with 'safe-method'. If you still have issues with this firmware, then we might have a bug. I don't get similar issues with thumbgen and haven't had a single crash with anything I've tested on this firmware since we got it. Also if you decide to format the HDD connected to your computer. You have to also do it when you connect it back to your TV when asked! Br,
