has anyone already noticed, that the internet radio favourites function isn't working properly?
this error also appeard in the previous beta-firmware.

if I add two stations to the favourites, I am only able to choose one of them. If one is chosen, it's impossible to change the station - only the different servers of the first chosen station are shown.

i've waited so long for a firmware which supports the new shoutcast-api... but it's buggy as before :D

Hi everybody,

i bought Playon!HD PV73100 a week ago, flashed the firmware twice without problems, first time it was v7.06.r3875 and now v7.3.x.r3582. I would like to revert back to v7.06.r3875 (because I liked the features that are not available in newer version (like ability to forward movie with arrows on my remote - i mean the small playback bar shown on bottom of screen etc. plus i dont like the new homescreen), but I´m afraid of loosing data on my hdd. Is it possible or not to switch back to previous (v7.06.r3875) version without loosing data?

I´m a newbie so please dont kick me.

Thanks

Post Re: Official firmware for Playon!HD PV73100 r3875 **POHD!**
Hello. I've just downloaded this official release of firmware. I've copied it on flash drive, connected it to PODH, choose menu System -> System Update - > System Upgrade and clicked "Enter". The PODH switched off and nothing happend, no any actions. What I need to do? Do I need switch on the POHD manually? Why is it happend? When I did upgrading before I had no such problem, POHD automatically run and flash by "red-blue" led while upgrading. Is this situation dangerous for the POHD? Please answer asap.

Added: I've waited 10-15 minutes and then decide to click on red "power on" button on remote. Nothing happend again. I don't hear that HDD work. The POHD does not do anything. What I need to do? Please help.

Added resolved: I just unplug the device, then plug it again and switch the device on. Updagrading completed successfully. Sorry for request.. ;)

It is difficult. Google on 3582 and you know that it is really shit.
Accept it and the next best, for so far I experience is the R4318.
Succes

Use the beta v7.0.6.4318 ShoutCast uses a new API. See notes at the forum.

Thanks for the firmware update.

But I had hoped to see my problem fixed with the hard disk delay/spin up time.

Now when I turn the device on my harddisk spins up but will not be reconized by the PV73100 but when I turn it off and back on again it works ( everytime ) and no it's not the harddisk and not a reformat or repartition since I tested that out already, it's all a new samsung 1.5 TB hd with no issue and another 1.5TB disk has the same problem.

So please put in a variable in there to start the HD detect with a delay of 10 secs or so..

Cheers,

Solo

For those who have this issue, I wish to have some info and details.

Please let me know

Previous firmware used without having this issue,

How was the upgrade of firmware done - either System upgrade or Safe-mode reflash

Was the HDD formatted by the player on the initial setup when you guys got the set, and which firmware was used to format the hard disk.

[Edit] Please indicate the brand / model / capacity of the hard disk you have... I believe mostly Samsung 1.5TB hard disk rite ?

Thank you.
P.S i need info for full detail test and escalation.

After 5 minutes inactivity my HDD (Samsung Story Station Plus 1,5TB HX-DE015EB/A62) goes into standby mode. That’s why I chose this type of drive. I wanted to be sure that after switching off the Mini with its remote control then the HDD will be surely stopped (in worst case after that 5 minutes).

It is ok, but sometimes I have to push the Stop button during watching a movie (telephone call, etc.) and this could also cause more than 5 minutes inactivity. After this it is impossible to spin up the HDD with pushing the Play button. It seems that the Mini is too quick to continue reading but the HDD would need more time to wake and spin up. Only restarting the Mini and the HDD with the remote control (switch off/on) helps. Workaround for this: enabling Movie preview, after pushing the Stop, it will do previewing, so there is no inactivity, thus reboot not needed, and the screensaver will save the screen.

When I watch photos, and I have to interrupt it for more than 5 minutes, there is another workaround: enabling Background music eg. from Directory or Playlist. Due to this there will be no inactivity (still playing the music when the photo show is paused). Use the Pause button for the break of course, stop would finish the whole process.

Folks who have plasma TV, do not forget to switch over to eg. a TV channel when pausing a photo (no ghosting and other problems due to still pictures).

So my FW is 3582 ex factory, never updated.

BTW when I connect my HDD to my PC or laptop, it is always able to wake up, that’s why I think that it is a question of firmware or driver since the USB port is just an USB port (standardized).

Of course it would be great and much more elegant, and I would highly appreciate, if a new firmware could fix this this problem as Samsung HDDs were not recommended officially for internal purposes but not for using with the Mini!

Others reported earlier (2010 May) almost the same problem, after Stop and Play the POHD did not recognized the internal HDD (workaround: reboot)! But with a previous firmware it never happened.

Testimonial Firmware Ver. v7.3.3.r3582
Everything look good, GUI excellent, problem play with AVI file, no sound.

Testimonial Firmware Version: v7.3.x.r4824
All features upgrade as said on bug fix, still problem with AVI file, no sound

Revert back to old version Firmware Ver. v7.06.r2388.

Damm what the heck happen with the new firmware, upgrade should be near to perfect, the hell AVI file play with sound problem. Almost giveup with this POHD 73100. I should move to DUNE if the new firmware still got bugs. :stepout: DUNE
