what’s new in this release

1. Added 'Permanent timeshift'

This is just a 'fix' for the lack of permanent time shifting from the previous ACR-PV76120 firmware called -> Version v8.3.x r4368.

How to update this firmware:

Both methods (Safe-Mode or System update) could be used.

System update method:
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Go to Setup>System>System update and press 'Enter' on your remote control.
4. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

Safe-Mode method:
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Shutdown the player and remove the power cord from the back.
4. Hold down the power button in front of the player, and insert the power cord in the back.
5. Keep holding down the power button, and when you see the A.C Ryan logo on your TV, count to 10 seconds and release the power button.
5. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

... with r4538 there is a new bug which I didn't experienced before:

"Record starts ..." notice stops video playing

If you are watching a recorded video and a new record is starting, the annoying "record starts in xx seconds" pops up. Confirming this notice with "ok" immediately stops the video you are playing and jumps to the live view of the channel which is recorded now.

I'm not absolutely certain but I think this happened for me with r4368.

With this version I have the problem that I´m not able to record certain channels.
There are five channels I regularly want to record, but since I installed this fw two of them I can´t!????
They just fail, but I don´t know why!!

... for me, r4538 didn't worked.

Timer off for 1 hour / 1 day almost on every startup, often a mismatch between timer settings and scheduler (ok) and live view info / EPG (wrong) ... (which even survived timer updates and restarts).

And the very best: a messed up channel / timer configuration, where in "adding schedules" each channel number had the long name of the previous schedule (which jumped back even after correcting it), and recordings of channel A named after channel B and put in folder of channel C ...

I went back to an older version ...

It happened to me as well!

There is a new firmware based on sdk 4.x

But the new firmware just jumps to the DTV live view (without a prompt) and interrupts you anyway!

And this is worse than the old behavior!
