 How to password protect web access on r3582 I have just bought a playon DVR HD because of the internet access. However I can't see how to put password protection on the web access without which all my music and photos are open to port scanners.
The problem is that the "Login Control" option is no longer on the Network setup menu.
I also can't see where to set the password even if I could turn Login Control on.
Help please!

Re: How to password protect web access on r3582 You only can protect it by blocking port 1024 to the outside of the world
And the pasword control is only working on the device it self not thru the network

Re: How to password protect web access on r3582 that's a bit funny eh ?? first ACRyan advertise WAN access as a new feature : 15. Add HTTP server function, default port 1024 (Setup - Network - Remote Control)
a. Access via web browser by keying in http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1024
Local network access, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx will be the local IP address, eg. http://192.168.1.100:1024
WAN access, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx will be your router WAN IP address, eg. http://205.195.65.15:1024
DDNS access, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx will be your DDNS domain name, eg. http://mydomain.dns.org:1024
b. Upload/Download single file via HTTP
c. Manage your Movie/Music/Picture playlist
d. Bit Torrent management interfaceand now you tell us not to use it  So the question remains ; how do we change the password from '123' to something the whole world does NOT know ??

The description as new feature is a Fake.
Indeed, she is not usable available, however, in the reality.
A.C.Ryan knows the mistake, however, it does not see what for the security of your customers to do.
