Yes, it will be coming to the other Playon! players/dvr when they get the Playon!GUI2.0 firmware. This Smart database is a bit "smarter" than the media library, auto scans through all directories and indexes the media files. Since there is an index created, there could be future expansion to include retrieving media information. But this pulling of information from IMDB is not an inegrated part of this firmware yet. Internally we are doing some reserch on this topic for the best solution (in processing power needed, $ budget for license to information services etc) for integrating pulling information from multiple sources (not only IMDB). For now, this informaion function is served using the YAMJ module (YAMJ will be part of Playon!GUI2.0 in Playon!HD/Mini/DVRHD). Thanks for the reply! As for licenses, I'm not sure about the IMDB licensing situation, but using the API of the excellent TheTVDb is free. Only when you want a dump of their database it'll cost some small fee. I hope processing media information from the Internet is a possibility on the device. Maybe more complex image operations (watermarking, resizing, etc.) are out of the question, but I know TheTVDb offers a range of image material which can easily be incorporated. The remainder should just sending out HTTP requests and parsing the result XML.

good one. I've thrown that to the team. Good news is that we are having some work in this direction : )
ps. IMDB requires commercial companies to pay a license to use their information, but is free for private individuals. That does not mean we will not do so, just pointing out what I know.

Let me know and I can see if there's a solution.

Re: Sneak preview of POHD Essential (actual product footages!)
Very nice looking GUI!
Does this GUI have a Queue List functionality like WinAmp? Like when a song is playing, you choose another song and add it to a queue list. That song starts playing after the first song is finished. In the current GUI, the second song starts playing immediately. I hope the new GUI has more music player functionalities than GUI 1.0.
Is GUI 2.0 full HD?
I really like all the subtitle functions and the new GOTO interface. Can't wait to put this new GUI on my Playon!HD!
