Post Re: How to use TViXiE2Playon!HD
Hi Guys,

I got a little problem with my Tvixie on my PLayon. I use a playon with a internal 2TB harddisk.

I created the jukebox with tvixie2playon 2010.9.7. I can see and open my jukebox via the RSS-feeds. When is select a movie it shows me the fanart. But when I try to play a movie of the filetype ISO. It says "Cannot play this media". It works fine if I try to start a movie with the filetype .MKV.

My ISO's also work perfect in the PLayon browser.

Any Ideas on how to fix this. I really like the look of Tvixie on my playon and really want it to work :)

Edit: BTW answer to the post above. Use this command to exit read-only mode:
mount -o remount,rw /
For further instructions see page 21 of this topic...

EDIT2: Got the jukebox working. I used a RSS-template instead of YAMJ-template to create my template. I can now access my jukebox via the Jukebox option in the menu.

But when I try to add a RSS-feed to my menu, created the jukebox with RSS-templates. I still can't play any Iso's It keeps ginving me the message "Cannot play this media".

EDIT3: Nevermind...used the wrong setting with the POHD Jukebox path  ...finally I got it working.. :)

I have done the following:

mount -o remount,rw /
cp /tmp/usbmounts/sda1/Movie_Jukebox/menu.rss /usr/local/bin/scripts/ -i
press "y" when asked to overwrite

Then I get the following error: 'Write Error: Invalid argument'

Any solution?
Thx

You're probably using one of the latest firmwares. If you want to override write protection you can do the following:
Code:
cp /tmp/usbmounts/sda1/Movie_Jukebox/menu.rss /usr/local/etc/

And add overmount to /usr/local/etc/rcS:
Code:
mount -o bind /usr/local/etc/menu.rss /usr/local/bin/scripts/menu.rss

Post Re: How to use TViXiE2Playon!HD
Thank you for this great guide!

Nevertheless I am stuck (using PlayOn!DVR-HD FW r4368):

when trying RSS-Jukebox: how do I create IMS_Modules/Movie_Jukebox ? The filesystem is readonly, and 'mount -o remount,rw /' does not help.
Also with 'mount -o bind /usr/local/etc/Movie_Jukebox /usr/local/bin/IMS_Modules/Movie_Jukebox' in /usr/local/etc/rcS I am not able to "create" a directory (but I am not really familiar with Linux)

when trying RSS and YAMJ: I get the message that 'Z:\movie\Jukebox\.' cannot be created. 'The file-name, directory-name or volume-label is incorrect. Although I can find 'Other_All_1.xml and Other_All_1.rss' in 'Z:\movie\Jukebox'. (The same is true f I specifiy a folder on my local PC!)

for YAMJ: I also cannot find any index.html or simalar file (but this might be caused be the previous error)

Thank you for helping :=)

FW:r4368

So, I found a way to solve my problem with IMS_Modules/Movie_Jukebox in read-only directory /usr/local/bin/.
I put Movie_Jukebox/*.* in /usr/local/etc/ and adjusted menu.rss accordingly.
This part seems to be ok now - at least I see the Movie_Jukebox icons and am asked about the location on of my Jukebox.

Here I am stuck again, and any help is highly appreciated!

On of my concerns: is there another reference to Movie_Jukebox in /usr/local/bin/IMS_Modules/???, because only the .rss-file and the 2 .jpg-files from this directory are 'used' by menu.rss.

==>> I finally solved the issues. it's working :=)

Post Re: How to use TViXiE2Playon!HD
So after some trial and error I got it running on my Playon!DVR-HD FW r4368.

Some comments / questions:

DVDs are skipped by TViXie2Playon!HD - but I did not find this exclusion mentioned in the post ?

Speed is quite bad - I did not change my JPEGs to 256 colors

Is also seems that the player behaves differently compared to play via Explorer - I cannot fast forward,

Ideas for improvement (besides playing multi-part movies):
MovieWallview is fast as I did not load any custom.jpg here, but I cannot go from here to MovieSheetView directly to get more information on the movie. I can only go to play. It would be nice to have 2 options: click= play, right-arrow = go to MovieSheetView

I don't suppose we'll get a new version of TViXiE2Playon!HD as a Christmas present, do I?

First of all; thanks a lot for all the information here.

I used ThumbGen and Tvixie2PlayonHD to build my Jukebox. All works well but whatever I do ,I do get no more then 12 Movies. It should be 17 but Yamj shows only 12. It seems to be limited to the first 2x6 template.
