you do not need an internal hdd ;)

but you have to make sure that the jukebox folder and the index.htm is located in the
same folder as where the movies are stored.

plus make like described in the first post the rule
Code:
mjb.PlayOnHD=true
in the moviejukebox.properties.

;)

This answer doesn't work for me. I've been following the howto on the first page step by step but I have not succeeded. In addition, I added the mjb.PlayOnHD=true to the moviejukebox.properties file, which is located in the YAMJ folder.

I still get the error 'Unable to locate some_movie.mkv'.

Now when I use the 'YAMJ GUI Config (ACR) v0.93.exe', I can see that it creates the next link to the movies:<playerpath>file://../</playerpath>
(Playon!HD path automatically generated)

My movies are however located on a NAS (Samba/CIFS and NFS)....

I therefore I tried using the YAMJ GUI Config v0.43.exe, but after selecting the network drive with my movies, I select 'My video files are on: a network path on the NMT' and get the error 'Unable to save information from the NMT to a file. Please check the IP adress for the NMT.' when I insert the correct IP-adress. You can also add varies combinations from http://code.google.com/p/moviejukeboxwiki/NMTRootPaths manually in the library xml. Like file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/movie for example (network share on my NAS is 'movie', and this share can be accessed when browsing...).

Can anybody help me out, because I think this should be easy to solve?

I think you are under a misconception that the "file://../" doesn't know where your files are. This is a Unix relative path that means "go up one directory"

So if you have a structure like this (I'll use windows nomenclature as I know it best)

C:\Movies\SomeMovie\SomeMovie.avi
C:\Jukebox\SomeMovie.xml

Then the path in the SomeMovie.xml file will be "file://../Movies/SomeMovie/SomeMovie.avi" which is relative to where the jukebox is located.
This is important! If you move the jukebox from that location then these links will break and your movies won't play.

If you absolutely have to move the jukebox from that location, you will have to manually workout what the path should be

okay, I now used 'YAMJ GUI Config (ACR) v0.93.exe' and pointed towards the shared folder ('movie') on my NAS, resulting in 'T:\' in the first field.
I now created the library file again via 'save' and executed 'ACR_YAMJ.cmd'. I than pointed my jukebox to the index file (not moved after creation) and refreshed it. I can than access yamj, but it still is unable to locate my movies...please enlighten me :D

maybe good to add that the location of the library file and index file is on seperate machines (MS2003 and QNAP).

Ok, did you delete the jukebox first?

please try to create a folder in your network share " T:/" and called it for instance " T:/movie/ "

make sure the movies are in the T:/movie/ folder.

then point YAMJ GUI Config (ACR) v0.93.exe to T:/movie to create the jukebox and index file.

then from the playonhd connect to the share on the nas
and let it search for the index file,
if the index is found and loaded see if the movies will play now.

;)

Post Re: [How to] use and setup the YAMJ trial version.
I've read through the forums, guides and played around with different settings myself, toyed with tvixie and YAMJ and I'd really like to simply get YAMJ to work but I'm struggling with an odd problem.

I'm running a PlayonHD with an internal hard disk and I thought I'd start moving my DVD collection over to the drive. Reading the forums I've ended up using the network samba share as the connection point, mapped as drive Z: with a 'movie' folder on the drive. The ripping software quite happily takes the entire DVD and puts it in the movie folder under the movie name\VIDEO_TS.

(I've only tried this on one DVD so far as I'm testing)

I've added the mjb.PlayOnHD=true entry to the moviejukebox.properties file and made sure that was in my C:\YAMJ folder.

I've opened the HTML file in the Jukebox folder for the one movie in my browser and the Play Link suggests it would open "file:///movie/Avatar/VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.IFO" which seems correct(?)

When you go into Jukebox on the PlayonHD, it shows the one cover, opens up the information screen but when you select play the screen goes blank for a few seconds and goes back to the home screen.

I'm using the v7.0.6.r3743_(European)_YAMJ_Trial firmware (7th revision) and I've installed the PV3100_Extension_Package (as samba wouldn't run). I've got YAMJ v1.9 r1500 installed and I'm opening v0.93 of the YAMJ GUI program.

I thought I was doing reasonably well and I can't see where I've gone wrong, so I'm throwing this one to the crowd as more heads are better than one.

I'd rather not have to encode all my DVD's to AVI or similar as when I tried that, the ETA was about 8 hours a film rather than 15 minutes to transfer the DVD.

Incidently, if I simply use the browse option and navigate to the movie folder, I get the 'Play Folder' option and the DVD runs fine, so its not a problem with the DVD transfer.

Hmm, I think this should start with "file://../movie/"

Can you paste your ACR_YAMJ.cmd and ACR_Library.xml files here?

The ACR_YAMJ.cmd file contains:

@Echo OFF
REM Command file generated by Omertron's GUI Config
REM YAMJ GUI Config (ACR) v0.93
REM http://mediaplayersite.com/YAMJ_GUI_Config_ACR
REM For A.C. Ryan PlayOn!HD MediaPlayer

C:
CD \YAMJ
CALL moviejukebox ACR_Library.xml -o Z:\movie
pause
exit

and the ACR_Library.xml contains:

<!-- Library file generated by Omertron's GUI Config -->
<!-- YAMJ GUI Config (ACR) v0.93 -->
<!-- http://mediaplayersite.com/YAMJ_GUI_Config_ACR -->
<!-- For A.C. Ryan PlayOn!HD MediaPlayer -->

<libraries>

<library>
<path>Z:\movie</path>
<playerpath>file://../movie/</playerpath>
<exclude name="Jukebox/,sample,tmp/,temp/,RECYCLE.BIN/"/>
<description>A.C. Ryan</description>
<prebuf></prebuf>
<scrapeLibrary>true</scrapeLibrary>
</library>

</libraries>

I don't know if it makes any difference, but the link to movie I copied by opening the html file in the Jukebox folder from the POHD in my browser, right clicked on the play button and selected 'copy shortcut' and pasted it into the forum message.

edit: I've just opened the HTML file in notepad and copied the file location which shows "file://../movie/Avatar/VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.IFO" - I guess the browser removed the '..' entry

Ok I just installed the YAMJ " r3643_(European) version on my PlayON!HD and I can't gain access to the setup section. Everytime I hit setup the screen goes blank and then returns to the home menu. Any suggestions on why this is happening and how can I fix this.
