Re: Sneak preview of POHD Essential (actual product footages!)
Quote: And I have a question: in terms of CPU speed, is essential equipped in better CPU, or is it the same as standard PoHD?
As far as I know it's the Realtek 1055 chipset. This chipset runs at 500mhz clockspeed. The clock of the 107x/128x is 400Mhz. http://www.iboum.com/artkill/chipsets.php

Re: Sneak preview of POHD Essential (actual product footages!)
This GUI looks really good ! This is an essential update for all POHD devices. Really hope that everything shown will work on the ''older'' 1073dd POHD's. Is the firmware for the Essential based on SDK 4 ? Can't wait for this. Maybe this will be ACRYAN's present for ''Sinterklaas"

Re: Sneak preview of POHD Essential (actual product footages!)
On Tweakers.net, somebody called AC Ryan stated that the GUI will be there for the other POHD-devices (the standard one, not the mini) in the month November. Yet this topicstart mentions "early December". Quote: (Coming your way to current POHD and Mini users, expected as early as early Dec and DVRHD users in Dec) What will it be? And is the remote for the Essential useable on the PlayOn!HD (with the network and HDD feature) ???

Re: Sneak preview of POHD Essential (actual product footages!)
It does indeed look good.
Point is that the Gui has been designed for an apparatus that has no network connectivity. They promote their "smart library". For all those users that have also an internal disk or USB disk it might work well.
I have a mini, with all content on a NAS (actually 2). For all those users that have network stored media, I hope that "smart library" with direct access to movies and music works just as well. I can only hope that shortcuts and so on will really be shortcuts and not long D-tours as they are now.
