hi, I have the same problem as Coffeemug and Dahl1978... tried to upgrade to the 4415 version, but got the unknown hardware issue.... tried to go back to Firmware Ver. v7.0.21.r3875 version, get to the part where I can select the language, I cancel the network option, then browser starts, I can scroll some, but then it freezes, blue lights go out, no signal, nothing I can do....but unplug... I've tried the options taking out usb, network cable, tried tv sys button, but nothing works. Also I tried to go to the options menu quickly to see if I could adjust some settings, but it just looks like after a certain amount of time, it quits... light out, no signal.

(So I tried also older versions, the 4312 version, but no luck, the 3875 had at least 'something' tha started to look like it might start working again...)

So from 3875 version then I tried to install the Version: v7.3.x.r3582;
installation tells me all goes fine, then after rebooting I can select language and I see the new menu with the scroll bar, it doesn't look very 'sharp' though, and after some scrolling, or time(it's unclear what causes it), lights go out, no signal, nothing... If I get to the part where I can select language and do nothing, the playon stays 'alive'... but as soon as I have selected the language, then disaster steps in somewhere... (I installed this version twice, just to be sure...)
In either case, the power off button was not working.

Hope you can help me out, I can't believe my mini is 'faulty', I get the idea the firmware just isn't doing the job somehow...

As i read the 4312 v. seemed stable i tried that one as well. I have the correct language set and see the new look.but after starting up i can push the remote 12 times and then the mini totally quits.if i do nothing after a start it reboots every minute or so. And it shows an ! and ntsc. .....

Hi, I was using the v7.0.21.r4312 Asian beta FW before installing the latest v7.3.5.r4415 Asian one. It seems that the support for tags in SubRip (srt) files is broken, it was ok in the earlier beta FW. Before, sentences in italics are show properly, but now the entire string of text, e.g. <i>My home is there.</i> is shown, including the <i></i> tags. Pls look into this, thank you!

It doesn't do anything with this firmware. If I try to install r3582 it does, but r4415 does nothing?
In de menu the option to update only displays an error sign left upper corner.

Does it have to be an install.img file? After unzip I get a install map...

Edit: Ok, I didn't notice in the hour and a half dealing with it, but it seems my Mac automaticly unpacks the .img file and I get a map, the 3582 .img file does not do this.

Use The Unarchiver to unpack the zip file on the Mac and you'll get the .img file that you can copy to the usb stick and install. The Unarchiver is free and you can get it here:

So those greenish menu icons (ex: in Browser menu) are normal?
Along with the upper side of the panel (through the middle) being green and the lower side being blueish?
I thought that my TV was going crazy with those green colors.

After I upgraded to r4415 I noticed that when I playback files over the network the playback shutters sometimes. This did not happen in r4312.
Also in r4415 it seems that playback of movies in MKV format have more "image noise" / pixelation (like on analog TV with bad reception). This is more noticeable in dark scenes.
