wilvanwil wrote: hi, I have the same problem as Coffeemug and Dahl1978... tried to upgrade to the 4415 version, but got the unknown hardware issue.... tried to go back to Firmware Ver. v7.0.21.r3875 version, get to the part where I can select the language, I cancel the network option, then browser starts, I can scroll some, but then it freezes, blue lights go out, no signal, nothing I can do....but unplug... I've tried the options taking out usb, network cable, tried tv sys button, but nothing works. Also I tried to go to the options menu quickly to see if I could adjust some settings, but it just looks like after a certain amount of time, it quits... light out, no signal.
(So I tried also older versions, the 4312 version, but no luck, the 3875 had at least 'something' tha started to look like it might start working again...)
So from 3875 version then I tried to install the Version: v7.3.x.r3582; installation tells me all goes fine, then after rebooting I can select language and I see the new menu with the scroll bar, it doesn't look very 'sharp' though, and after some scrolling, or time(it's unclear what causes it), lights go out, no signal, nothing... If I get to the part where I can select language and do nothing, the playon stays 'alive'... but as soon as I have selected the language, then disaster steps in somewhere... (I installed this version twice, just to be sure...) In either case, the power off button was not working.
Hope you can help me out, I can't believe my mini is 'faulty', I get the idea the firmware just isn't doing the job somehow...
greetz, Wil Netherlands Btw: ihave a samsung fullhd hdmi monitor Edit. As i read the 4312 v. seemed stable i tried that one as well. I have the correct language set and see the new look.but after starting up i can push the remote 12 times and then the mini totally quits.if i do nothing after a start it reboots every minute or so. And it shows an ! and ntsc. ..... =============================================== unfortunately no replies, this afternoon I have sat another hour and a half trying to get the thing to work again.... so I was at version 4312, which just quits on me after 12 times pushing the remote...(weird huh!) I tried 3582(after I made sure I had almost all versions on a fat32 usb stick/sd card), that version I installed twice, but I only get the start screen, which gets back every 57 seconds.... no signal, and then the start screen again... no option to get into the menu or browser... then I tried version 3875, I get the menu to set the language, can do that, and after 12 times of pushing a button on the remote... it totally quits, lights out, nothing happens anymore.... after unplugging the power, and starting up again, same story, pusing the remote 12 times and it quits.... so, next a lower version, 2956 as on the website.. what I found during install, it mentions version 2957(!!) what's correct?? After install I only get the start screen, no options to select language, and then no signal... so again tried 3875 as I at least could get a menu... and also get to the set up menu, as long as I kept the buttons to push less than 12... I installed it again using the menu, as I could get to the system update menu in about 8 times pushing the remote.... install ok, language set...unfortunately no luck... still the issue of 12x pushing a button , and it freezes.. also the light goes off... no blue or red.... so through the menu I tried 3582 again...rebooted by itself, install complete.... I get the startscreen, after 9 seconds.. no signal.... then startscreen again.... after 9 seconds no signal... installed 3582 again but issue stayes the same... one more time tried 4415, but got the unknown hardware issue again... so currently the installed 3875, but with the issue of hitting the remote 12 times, it's turning 'dead'... HELP! :-s

To wilvanwil:
Hello,
I would take the player back to your re-seller and get a new one. Sounds to me that you have done more than enough to 'get out' of the situation by re-flashing to several different newer and older firmware without success.

Jayan wrote: Hi, I was using the v7.0.21.r4312 Asian beta FW before installing the latest v7.3.5.r4415 Asian one. It seems that the support for tags in SubRip (srt) files is broken, it was ok in the earlier beta FW. Before, sentences in italics are show properly, but now the entire string of text, e.g. <i>My home is there.</i> is shown, including the <i></i> tags. Pls look into this, thank you! I finally decided to execute a firmware update. My mini ran an old out-of-the-box firmware. I have the exact same odd problem with the European version of the same beta. Those tags on screen get a bit annoying after a while so yeah... please look into this. Also, isnt it possible to switch between GUI's? I liked the older one better, especially on analog TV's.

Pluumke wrote: It doesn't do anything with this firmware. If I try to install r3582 it does, but r4415 does nothing? In de menu the option to update only displays an error sign left upper corner. Does it have to be an install.img file? After unzip I get a install map... Edit: Ok, I didn't notice in the hour and a half dealing with it, but it seems my Mac automaticly unpacks the .img file and I get a map, the 3582 .img file does not do this. Use The Unarchiver to unpack the zip file on the Mac and you'll get the .img file that you can copy to the usb stick and install. The Unarchiver is free and you can get it here:

http://download.cnet.com/The-Unarchiver/3000-2250_4-10655313.html I have a Intel Mac and use it without any problems. Good luck.

I have a Intel Mac and use it without any problems. Good luck. Please don't think that I attack your willingness to help. But it reduces the need for A.C. Ryan to deliver a correct zip. I appreciate that you are trying to help the mac users on this forum, but you offer them a work around based on the fact that A.C.Ryan delivers a "non Mac standard" zip and even an illegal zip based on GPL legal rules. Your workaround is a handy one for the time being. However, with a little more attention in the release process from A.C.Ryan, A.C.Ryan could deliver a better zip. One that works automatically on the mac without the need to install extra tools AND with a decent readme file describing what you need to do. A.C. Ryan might say that it is a beta and to be used only by experienced users who know what to do. But, as I mentioned before: As the firmware uses GPL coded stuff they are obliged to also include the GPL LICENSE or GPL COPYING file (please note that I don't scream. These files need to be written in uppercase characters). Which means that the zip file would at least contain the install.img and either (or better: both) the LICENSE or COPYING file. Having a zip with multiple files inside automatically solves the problem on Mac without further tools to be installed. ("A small step for A.C. Ryan. A giant leap for MACkind": Neil Armstrong, loosely quoted).

After I upgraded to r4415 I noticed that when I playback files over the network the playback shutters sometimes. This did not happen in r4312. Also in r4415 it seems that playback of movies in MKV format have more "image noise" / pixelation (like on analog TV with bad reception). This is more noticeable in dark scenes. Agree with you about the image noise /bad pixelation issue, same issue in r3582. I still prefer use back the r4312 for good quality, but miss the MKV compressed headers & ttf

Found out that the PO didn't like to have the index and/or the jukebox folder on root, so when I moved my movie and tvshow folder up one folder from root and pointed yamj to the new folder it worked. Weird........ aamh

Blue artefacts in mkv and mp4 playback (x264) that did not show on computer playback are now solved. That's great!
Zoom options are more or less useless now: The most iomportant use is, that the user can zoom in on a widescreen movie. Preferrably so, that he can choose how far he will go. Now, on a few zoom-options almost nothing happens, and the next one is 2X, which is too much loss of picture.

Re: [BETA - SDK3.X] PV73200 v7.3.X.r4415 POHD MINI
I've installed this version. But i've got a problem with te audio settings. I'm using a Toslink to my reciver and with the firmware r4312 i set it ot raw. Then i can play music and use DTS or 5.1 audio without changing the settings.
But with this new version i can play music if i set the audio at LPCM DUAL or LPCM MULTI. But for my movies i have to change it to PASSTROUGH.
Can i solve this problem?
