 WIFI N 5GHZ band
Hello,
i have a simultaneous Wifi N 2.4 & 5GHZ router. Now i bought the original WifiN USB stick, but the device doesnt recognize my fast 5GHZ band. Can anybody explain me why or is this hardware limitation? My laptop finds it instantly and is able to connect to it.
Thank you!

 Re: WIFI N 5GHZ band
Could be the USB wireless N adapter doesn't support dual band? I notice there is no mention on AC Ryan original wireless N adapter is dual band capable. Anyone from AC Ryan care to confirm this? I would like to get the original wireless N adapter but reluctant to do so since there is no mention on this. Currently using some china made dual band wireless N adapter and is working fine.

 Re: WIFI N 5GHZ band
Sad to say that our WIFI-N dongle doesn't support dual band.

Ok, if it is not dual band, is it possible to select the 5Ghz band?
Are there any adapters know working wich DO support the 5Ghz band??

 Re: WIFI N 5GHZ band
it'll be good if ACR can provide the details of a 5Ghz dongle that can work with the POHD...
I too have a dual band router, but is forced to turn off the 5Ghz band (which is designed for media/streaming/uPnP) while stuck with using the very congested 2.4Ghz

 Re: WIFI N 5GHZ band
This topic is very important! Anyone any advice?
Our neighborhood is flooded with WLANs, I really need to switch to the 5ghz band. Is the A.C. Ryan WLAN-USB-Stick capable of using the 5GHZ Band?
Thanks

 Re: WIFI N 5GHZ band
I would say the 5GHz band is not possible on the playonhd, regardless of which dongle you use, as far as i now it is not supported in the chip. of the player which controls the network. but i stand corrected if i am wrong

 Re: WIFI N 5GHZ band
Thank you, that would be sad but makes sense.
Any chance to get an official statement?
