Geesh... why NOT make it sticky ?! I'm not even going to argue about this matter.

And WHY has this topic "firmware developing" (development?) between "" ? Why is it labeled 'topic', aren't all threads in this forum a topic?

The idea of this thread is good... but the follow up, by whoever was going to do so, is lacking behind. Once more. If info is going to be spread in the firmware-threads and both here, just canalize it by moving the info to this topic in a consistent behaviour or close/remove this thread.

The development team knows best, the product specialist brings out info every now and then, and now after asked for, a mod says he or they (the mods) will bring out the news when there is news. Double-function in place here? How can this not confuse (or keep irregular visitors motivated) to read and contribute to whatever they are still wanted and thanked for as a user and/or tester.

PS: Why is this thread in the Lounge-section? It's relevant to the firmware-development, and it's in a subforum where people chit-chat about everything and nothing. Move it to an adequate subforum, and stickify it.

this topic is created so everyone can discuss about the firmware development (as the topic says),
it is not been made to keep track of bugs.

actually it is done to keep comments about the firmware development away,
from the release forums and topics so the development,
does not have to read the entire topics and comments about what is done in development,
but concentrate on the bugs mentioned by users in the release topics.

As ACryan releases firmwares for more then one player,
it is hard to find a good place to put this topic in,
i do agree however to make it a sticky,
but i prefer to keep it in this subforum.

if it is a sticky it would not matter anyway,
it can be found by anyone.

but lets make it clear this is not a bugreport topic,
bugs should still be reported in the corresponding release topic of that firmware for the player at hand.

i will discuss with the other moderators if we can make it a sticky,
if so it will be done, if not so be it ;)

but for any comment about the development of the firmware,
do place them here (of course in a mature manner ;) )

if the comment is supposed to report a bug do it in the release topic as said.

it will give the development team,
an easier to read firmwre release topic in which they can see which bugs are still at hand,
instead of reading all kinds of posts about how well or how bad the development is going,
which is also importand to know,
as customers are certainly very importand as is their comments,
so this thread is also being readed by acryan staff as well,

it is most certainly not for hiding away these comments please do understand,
that we are a very open community,
and all reactions are welcome, the good and the bad (but again in a mature manner written)

;)

Make it sticky and make first post a bit more informative.

So that people know where they should place bugs for each device and what this topic is about.

Reading what goal this topic has then it's going to be missed this way.

Thanks Dirk ;)

Back ontopic, is it true there is "leaked" a new firmware?

I run the same fw now on a dvr-hd and there i have no problems at all.

actually I don't know your concept of "no problems" - but IMHO the FW for the DVR-HD / PV76120 is buggy in a way that the box is almost unusable ... at least if you would like to use a PVR for recording, not as a paper weight.

OK, this is becoming a soap opera. I've totally run out of patience with AC Ryan.

No offense to the moderators of this forum, but AC Ryan is a phoney company. They sell underachieving mediaplayers and fail to deliver the firmware to make it function according to even minimum standards.

I don't want to go through the trouble again and again browsing this forum for a workable firmware. I want to watch DVD's without runaway subs, sound/vision synchronizing issues and innumerable other basic flaws.

AC Ryan has to deliver. Or stop making devices alltogether.

Hello Peter5,

Sorry to hear that you are not happy. I can however ensure you that we have a lot of happy customers. We also try to help those who have issues. There will always be people who are not happy and I do also agree that our latest firmware has not lived up to par. It's not like we want that to happen but sometimes it does and we are working very hard to fix it. Without going into details, you are free to return your product if you are not happy with it. If we can't support your needs then we can't.

If you got questions you are free to reply here, pm, email or call us up and I will try my best to help.

Br,

Ofcourse wilmaschauen, let AC Ryan drop alle the work on the new firmware immediately and let them first solve YOUR problem!

Are you aware of the fact that thousands of customers have a lot more problems than you have, maybe because they use more options...

wilmaschauen,

I also don't understand why some official firmwares actually worsen a lot of aspects. You mentioned an example, but there are much more things which worked perfectly in previous versions, but go wrong in new versions.

Subs worked fine in previous versions. Now they don't start automatically, disappear after pause and don't go synchrone.
Zooming is now a mess, has never been a problem.
Sound in dvd's is a mess. Sometimes you have to start the film all over again.

Ofcourse there are improvements, like starting up time and audio output.

The trouble is that you keep trying new firmwares and choose between these new versions or downgrading again.
