Same feeling!

One little thing that I can't understand. Customers are unstatisfied, have a lot of problem and the manufacturer's help is like nothing. What kind of customer support is this??? This is like: you are important when you are with cash there at the buying, but after that you can go far-far away.

After all these firmware "updates" I really have the impression that AC Ryan thinks its customers are geeks or unpaid AC Ryan volunteers. If you provide a new firmware, I expect it to work. The numerous mistakes make an embarassing impression. It's really not professional and my next player will definitely not be an AC Ryan. I'm looking for a device which works and is not manufactured by semi professionals. With all due respect, I'm glad AC Ryan doesn't sell cars.

If you don´t like to test Beta FW then I suggest you don´t do that and wait for a stable release ´not the latest one'.

There are a lot of users that like or at least don´t mind to test Beta FW.

That's exactly my problem. I bought this device in february 2010 and there's still no stable release - at least in my opinion. If there was a stable firmware with only minor flaws, I wouldn't download any new/beta/gamma/zeta firmware! And worse: any new or beta release seems to carry only new mistakes, although I must say the latest official version has also some improvements.

However, what I DO like about AC Ryan is that it has a user forum where criticism is possible and where the developers also take part. I must admit, that's an example for numerous companies!

I just returned my POHD because i don't have any convidence in the competence of a.c.ryan anymore. Luckily Dutch consumer rights give the right to return your product within 6 months after purchase if a product does not function properly, it is clear that playon!hd does not function as it is supposed to.

I think it is sad that a company relies on customers to to do their testing for them since official firmware's are not functioning either. I get the impression that a.c.ryan does not take it's clients seriously.

Next to that i feel it's sad that a.c.ryan relies on customers to edit the forum, that way customer moderators have to react to the many complaints without a.c.ryan ever taking responsability for their products.

Anyway, i wish all of you the best!

You are overreacting and wrong about dutch consumer rights. You can´t return a car if the ashtray falls off (believe me I tried, because I drive a Citroen where everything falls off). And you have to give the manufacturer at least one chance, in writing, to fix the problem. But maybe you had a kind shop owner.

I agree it is about time an adequate firmware materializes. But AC Ryan has an open ear for client input. What did you want then? A company like Ziggo or KPN with expensive 0900 helpdesks? Right, THEY listen!

At the monment the Team has recieved sdk 4.0 wich gives more options and hopefully more bugfixes.

They are analyzing the new sdk and the new codes.

The Beta fw is just a extra so you can see wich new options and functions are available or wich bugs are solved

Don't Expect a fully stable version

True the 3582 had not to be released as final . Ac Ryan took the blame and will make sure that will not happend again.

Everybody makes mistakes.

Thnx to your input we experienced some bugs that the test team dit not discover due to difference of tv, reciever, pc,network etc etc..

Thats why beta information is so important.

I as a customer still have fate in the develope team.

okay so we just got the PV73100 POHD (SDK3.X) r4090 and now already they have recieved the SDK4.0.

will we get an bugfixed (SDK3.X) r4090 or are they going for PV73100 POHD (SDK4.X) r1000 ??
there are of course a lot of dependancies but looks smarter to go for the last one..

I know your just a Mod, but your the one closest to the "fire" and in this case the messenger (wont shoot you )

Thanks for starting a valuable topic.

There seems to be a slight problem with the location of such a important topic IMHO

Being that this topic is about 1 of the 2 moist important aspects of a media player
1 being the Hardware
2 being the operating software ( Firmware)

This firmware topic should either be in the firmware section or in maybe the Development section
where it will get the exposure it needs

In my opinion it should not be put in a general chat area for off topic chat for something and nothing

Just my opinion

Cheers
