Did you install the latest version, because that was what I was talking about. And if you read my post I said that the whole file was not in the place where it should be. So how can you change something that isn't there??

thats what i find strange because i have the new firmware installed. so everything should be exactly the same as with your pohd.

and yes i did read your post and i thought maybe you had copied that code wrong. altough in some posts i read that they use hdd2 for some things, but i dont know for sure but maybe you can try.

Just got my POHD. Had a hard time trying to figure out how to implement this tweak. I guess I'm facing the same problem as Comic. Any kind soul care to shed some light? TIA!

maybe they moved the 'btpd' file to another location ...
try searching for it with : find / -name 'btpd'
this will search for a file called 'btpd' starting from the root

EDIT: just checked, on my POHD the 'btpd' is where it should be, in /tmp/hdd/root/script/ ...
running v7.3.4r3582

EDIT 2: problem is, when I edit that script. after a reboot there's btpd running without the parameters again ... only when I manually start the changed /tmp/hdd/root/script/btpd I get the changed version.
there is another script /usr/local/bin/package/script/btpd, but I can not edit that because its is read-only and when I try to change that with chmod, it says 'read only file system' ?!

noob here, just brought POHD and found BT very slow, even after changing port number/port forwarding etc

think it is likely ISP slowing it, pls advise:
1) which version of Transmission should I to download?
2) how do i get it installed into the POHD?

had installed infosite, onwhich i installed transmission (v 2.04-1) via optware - was not able to access Transmission at http://<POHD IP>:9091

did i missed a step? any kind expert pls advise

after careful reading, only to realise that need to download/run "script" from frater's thread - had thought that installing the packages are enough

everything seems ok now, will continue to explore my POHD's functions

But I have to take some hurdles first..

My first hurdle was to activate Telnet on Windows Vista...
(in Dutch, here it is how to activate it: http://www.valadissupport.nl/z008.html, which will take a while to be installed...)

The Second hurdle was to find the btpd script file...
In r3582 these are the btpd locations:
/ # find / -name 'btpd'
/usr/local/bin/package/btpd
/usr/local/bin/package/btpd/bin/btpd
/usr/local/bin/package/script/btpd
/usr/local/etc/package/btpd

However, the Script file is read only !
And the script-file has 227 lines instead of 207 according to the -How To-...

I did make a backup, but I don't know how to change the permissions for the btpd script-file. Or shouldn't I ??
I tried 'chmod' as a command, but failed.
What can be done next ??

I also have some questions in advance:
- Do I lose these settings when the power of the POHD is off ?
or
- Do I lose these settings when a new firmware is installed ??

That's funny ... I'm also using r3582 but I do have a /tmp/hdd/root/script/btpd
However, that seems not to be the script that is started on startup/reboot, because after editing it to include port & peers, btpd is running without those parameters after reboot.
So I copied the other btpd script to a place where I could edit it (/usr/local/etc should work in your case) and now stop/start the btpd service manually ... it's a workaround.

(after I had to reboot the POHD again, because it hang at the BTorrent download screen at 99%... Now it started again at 0%, but it takes a while the POHD know's where to start again (hopefully at 99%...) )

But starting the script manually, means I have to do it over&over again after every reboot or updated firmware, is that correct ?
