Post Re: [BETA] PV73100 r4318 firmware **POHD**
Hi,

First of all, I'm new to the community so I hope I post this in the correct section.
Bought my PlayonHD ("+" version) about a week ago. It came with the 4318 firmware pre-installed out of the box.
Bought it without HDD, installed my own Samsung HD103SJ harddisk.

Works kind of OK, but I have some bugs which I'd like to report. Perhaps they've already been reported, if so I apologize for double-posting. If not, you might want to know about them... ;)

* When connecting the PoHD to my Windows 7 PC via USB, I can transfer files at an acceptable speed.
However, sometimes the transfer just hangs and the only solution is to disconnect the USB cable and power cycling the PoHD. This happens on a very regular basis and is kind of annoying.
Copying files from my PC to a USB harddisk works perfectly, so I assume the problems are PoHD related.

* Sometimes non-HD video plays stuttering, both via HDMI and via Composite. Happens with several DVD rips which playback fine on PC or regular dvd player (when burned to DVDR). It is a constant stutter every two or three seconds, during the whole movie. Very annoying.

* OSD: When pressing INFO button twice during playback of a video file, "Audio:" shows video info and "Video:" shows audio info.

* OSD contains several faulty hints, e.g. when copying files from USB to HDD it gives you wrong hints on how to start copying (iirc it says press "select", but you need to press "arrow right" to start copying).

Hope this info will help you guys to improve the device.
IMO it already is a great device, but still needs some serious work to get it working as it should.

Seeing you guys are still testing the new firmware, it would be awesome if the Browser menu would select HDD as default, rather than Card (When there is no card plugged in) ... it's not a major thing, but it tends to get annoying that every time you want to browse you have to actually select the HDD, or at least make the Card option disabled when it senses nothing plugged in.

Other than that, keep up the good work 8-)

Post Woxter 750 = POHD Firmware?
Hi!

I have a Woxter i-Cube 750 HD Player.
It works with the new firmware "r3875" and beta firmware "r4318"?

Greetings...

Hello,

Expecting a internal version to be ready this week. Then depending on how good it is, we will release it when ready.

Br,

Nice to hear something about the firmware but it is still very vague. "We will release it when ready" could mean three months away.

How about updates on how the internal testers are finding things.

Keep us informed. It doesn't take five minutes to drop a few notes on here, maybe at the end of the day, just to let us know what is happening, any hiccups etc..

If the firmware is seriously flawed I don't mind waiting for a more stable release, just as long as we know what is happening.

Cheers.

A.V.

Where testing a internal version at the moment to catch the biggest bugs.
This will take some time will not be done in a day ;0)

Most of the beta testers are volunteer who do this in there free time :)

And since where having a private life also we dont have the opportunity to test 24 hours a day :D

My wife probaly kills me then hahaha

plus like me im also a moderator so where a pretty busy team ;)

As soon as the fw is proofed to be stabler then the latest offcial it will be released

Has anyone noticed the video and audio statistics you get when you press the info button are reversed.

The video line shows audio, and the audio line shows video stats. :? :?

Yes correct. It is reversed.

Can this patch be applied via fail safe mode or it has to be via the setup menu?

In addtion to the remark of Xaroth: It would be nice to be able to enter a default browser startlocation in the settings, so at startup of the browser you would start there. Most people will have one place they want to start browsing (probably somewhere within the HDD tree) other then the absolure top of the tree.

I'm thinking of upgrading my r2288 to newer version of firmware. Will avoid SDK 3.0 version for now.

Is r4318 the most stable beta release using SDK 2.0?

Will there be a stable release using the SDK 2.0?

Thanks

I would say that r4318 for Playon!HD and r.4312 for Playon!Mini seem to be the most stable SDK 2.0 versions we have. Those are also the last versions of SDK 2.0 due to switch to SDK 3.0 with r.3582 and that is what we are trying to make stable as we speak.
