My nephew has this DVR and I have been trying to work out this problem for almost a year now. We have a 500GB PATA hard drive installed. I have formatted it in FAT32 using the utility downloaded from the AC Ryan support page to recognize drives larger than 32GB.

I can connect it via USB and recognize as an external hard drive fine and transfer media to it, but when I plug it into a TV it says "Hard Drive not detected". It will load the OS ok but can't detect the hard drive! Very frustrating.

Can anyone offer any suggestions? At the moment he has to use a seperate media player thing and connects the AC Ryan device as an external hard drive to that, but it is a lot of hassle!
