 Re: [Official]POHD PV73100 (SDK3.X) r3582
Two problems with the audio here:
I have both HDMI and SPDIF on PASSTHROUGH:
1) SPDIF only passes DTS and DD audio (no stereo/mp3) 2) HDMI passes all audio but only as "stereo" (no DTS or DD detected by my receiver anymore)
So I'm gonna revert back to a beta-firmware because I view both HD DTS movies (that I want in surround sound) and SD stereo movies. For that with the current firmware I have to change settings every time or to switch my receiver between SPDIF or HDMI.
(in the mean while back @ "v7.0.6.r4318" and using SPDIF RAW without any problems)

 Re: [Official]POHD PV73100 (SDK3.X) r3582
Interesting firmware. I'm doing a review of this and other players and everytime I think I'm done a new firmware comes out . Pro: - I had issues playing BR-ISO's from the HDD on FW later than 2901 but it works fine now - DTD-HD MA works great when played from a BR-ISO or folder (for example Avatar) - Radio works - ftp works fine and I could upload at speeds around 7 MB/s Cons - I have a few DTS HD-MA test clips from http://www.demo-world.eu/trailers/high- ... ailers.php which now do not work at all or after a second try to play them. It is m2ts files and other players can play them. The error I get is "bitstream error". - I cannot use network anymore?? Before I could browse my network and easily access the Windows Home Server or the Synology NAS I use for my files. If I now go to Browse/Network right after start it doesn't even show the workgroups on the net. If I leave it for a while the workgroups pop up but when I go into one they are empty (no computers with shares). UPnP works. The network thingy is weird. I've rebooted, reflashed but no luck. I never had that issue before??

 Re: [Official]POHD PV73100 (SDK3.X) r3582
To all dev-team, moderators, or anyone who can do this...
Nice to see the new firmware arive... BUT:
I suggest making a topic (or include it in this one) stating all the acnolaged bugs by continiously editing the first post.
Why? This firmware only just got released, and already this thread is becomming unreadable because of everyone posting about the same bugs with different descriptions. I know what i'm suggesting isn't excacly advertising to potential buyers reading it, but reading 200+ posts about the same bugs over and over again also isn't.
Pros:
- It will let people see by forehand if their problems are already noticed by AC - It will help the dev-team to keep their priority's straight... (although i'm sure you're already keeping a list internally) - It will also help alot of people keeping their temper if they actually can SEE that their troubles are heard and taken seriously... means less flaming in contradiction to the whole 4318 thread.. For your information : i'm talking about real bugs... So only BROKEN features, not cosmetics or features temporarely not supported!
Just a suggestion though...
Besides this : GREAT JOB! Can't wait to try this... (unfortunately can't right now...)

I want a steady 1080P movie and not framedrops in a movie. And all the mkv or birddemo test files are crap now. And my option to scroll thru a movie is gone also when it plays. Can the development team please leave all the crap behind and remove the jukebox stuff and another crappy jukebox thingy and internet radio etc etc etc etc ? i have spend monny on this thing to watch movies! and i'm getting the feeling that to much effort is dissapearing in making those nonsens apps to work.

Sorry. I bought the thing to watch TV shows, so the promise of a decent jukebox was important to me. Different strokes….

 Re: [Official]POHD PV73100 (SDK3.X) r3582
Folder lock not very secure. If you lock a folder you cannot open it from the player, but you can from PC via USB or network. And if you delete the ".folder.locked" file from the locked folder via PC it is unlocked again on the player. So be careful with your pron cdp Is there any way to use http://www.truecrypt.org/ to really secure stuff on the player?

Over wireless G I'm getting about 1.7 MB/s via FTP and about 1.2 MB/s via SMB.
That's acceptable performance for me.

Thanks for the hard work Playon Dev team. However, missing the ability to scroll forward/backward during movie play is a big thing for me. Gonna to hold off until the next release
