Can you help we with my new purchase, please?
I just ordered the mini. One of the main features I liked was the use of YAMJ. However, even after looking at the on-user manual. I can't figure out what I am supposed to do to install it. Does it install on the USB HD connected to the mini? Does it install on a PC? Just not sure what I will need to do once my unit arrives.
Thanks for your help.

Mic Hello, You install the software on your your PC, and just follow the steps from this http://www.acryan.com/downloads/YAMJ_User_Guide.pdf manual. Just make sure to connect your media files to your Mini while setting YAMJ up, in your case a external USB I presume? Then follow the steps from the URL provided above. Br,

Thanks for the reply. I use a Mac. Will there be a problem download/installing the application?

Re: Can you help we with my new purchase, please?
I'm sorry to string this on, but I want to be absolutely sure about this as I may have to return the unit if I cannot use the YAMJ UI.
The POHD mini has to be networked with a PC running YAMJ. The POHD cannot use YAMJ installed on a USB HD directly connected to the POHD mini? Is my understanding correct?
Thanks. I apologize for my lack of understanding but this is all new to me.

Re: Can you help we with my new purchase, please?
I think I have answered my own question. YAMJ is basically an application that you run to scan your movie folder and "build" a jukebox file which resides on the HD connected to the POHD mini . When you connect the HD to the computer to add movies (I am not going to use a network at first), you then have to rescan the movie folder to update the jukebox file(s). POHD mini displays the build jukebox residing on the connect HD. So YAMJ is more of a jukebox building "tool". Is my understanding correct? I have the ability to run Windows on my Mac, so I could run YAMJ that way. As long as the Mac does not have to be "running" the application while using POHD to view the Jukbox, that would work for me. Thoughts?
Thanks.

You answered correctly ! You use the YAMJ GUI on the PC (or mac running windows). That will build the database with the index file and thumbnails on your internal HD or on a USB drive. After that you can run the jukebox straight from the POHD(mini). If you wanna update the database you will need to run the YAMJ GUI again.

And, how do you correct incorrect tagging of the movie file? Do you view the thumbs and such while running YAMJ to make sure they are correct and if not correct them at that point or do you really not know how good the scrape was until you view the info in the Jukebox on the POHD?

It scrapes the new stuff. I will compare filenames and skip previously scraped material. You can view the index file on any browser, since it is an HTML file. If there are any incorrect movienames, you can force YAMJ to use certain IMDB titles by putting NFO files in the directories,

It has been very helpful and I am sure it will make setting up the system less frustrating. nfo's, huh...well that's a whole other thing I am going to have to learn about. Mic
