Hi PFG,
Sorry the late reply and I can understand your frustrations, however, that is no reason to get personal and call people names. That is not tolerated on other forums and the same goes for this forum.
Now to give an answer to your questions:
The promoter must have been misinformed and it is strange that he would give you that answer. It must have been a extra hired promoter because our college's in Singapore are very well informed about the player. Our apologies about that wrong information, wouldn't call it misleading, it is not like we gain anything by giving you the wrong information.
The DVR-HD itself is expected to arrive here at the end of July and will then ship first to those who have ordered it online on our website and to our resellers.
The PV75100 and PV75120 are old models which have been pulled back from the market due to multiple reasons as we stated in different forums and websites. The new model will have a new chipset, incl. TrueHD audio support, support for memory cards and will have a look similar to our Playon!HD and Playon!HD Mini. The old model is also not being sold anymore unless some reseller of us still have stock that they still want to sell but the old model is not being shipped by AC Ryan anymore.
If you have any other questions related this subject let me know. Again sorry that we missed this topic, should not have happened but we are monitoring it now.
Kind Regards,
With all due respect, I have not called anybody by any names...
I am merely stating the fact, which is apparent in this forum that many are not happy with their purchases and are unfortunately not getting their questions answered satisfactorily...
If the AC Ryan staff here, who should be at the forefront of things are not armed with the answers/solutions, who would?
Now that the older DVRs are known to be problematic, it's imperative for AC Ryan to have a solid exchange policy for customers who have bought them...
Resellers should also be included in this exchange program and immediately be issued with an order to halt the sale of the problematic PV75100 & PV75120...
Uninformed customers will risk purchasing them and will have unpleasant experiences; not very healthy for the reputation of AC Ryan...
Coming to the new PV76120 DVR, it is good that it possesses a new chipset with improved features...
But reading through the forums, apparently one of the biggest problems with the PV75100 & PV 75120 is the frequent freezing/hanging of the DVR, especially during recording...
With what is happening with the PV75100/PV75120, the reliability of the PV76120 is questionable and the decision to pre-order it is going to be a tough one...
Hopefully AC Ryan will prove to the customers that it still does produce quality products...
