I am still waiting for the YAMJ fix where we can save the jukebox path and not search for it everytime. I have a 1tb drive and it takes ages to search for the jukebox everytime I try to access it.

you should give Thumbgen a try..looks as good and far less painless ;-)

I have a request (apologies if it is in the wrong place)

I often start a movie for my children, and then stop it part-way, and resume it the next day for them.

At the moment, I have to navigate to the file, and press play, and the file gives me the option to resume.

I would like to see the resume start as soon as the POHD Mini starts up (so that I don't have to navigate back to the actual file)

It should offer restarting the last played file once booted.

Post Re: [BETA] PV73200 r4312 firmware **POHD MINI**
First post after getting my Mini last week - well impressed overall. :)

I bought the mini primarily to play music so have a few observations on that front re the latest firmware.

System Specs
Panasonic G20b plasma
Denon AVR-1911
AC Ryan PlayonHD mini (HDMI raw) - via HDMI to Denon Receiver - via HDMI to TV
Freecom 2TB Ext USB HDD - formatted with NTFS
POHD firmware v. r4312

1. MP3 tags can be a little suspect - in particular the comment field seems to constantly default to "eng" even when i edit the files with the mp3tag application from www.mp3tag.de as recommended - also still occasionally get random characters in various fields
(some definitive settings for this application would be greatly received)

2. Most of my music is actually in FLAC or M4A format and the tags don't appear at all on these files, even if they are tagged with the MP3tag app.

3. Music playback stutters when copying anything to the attached HDD.

Otherwise - a great product and cool to see so much dev. activity and updates - keep up the good work !!!

Wysi

would be great if youtube and uitzending gemist would be added to the new firmware.

I don't use radio. I am too lazy to configure my Wi-Fi. Every time after firmware upgrade I have to create the connection from the scratch. I will wait for the next version (which you said it will be next week) and upgrade it then. Especially that it will be with some other bug fixes.

A question: when you introduced version 4107 with new graphics on main screen, you said, that you will be adjusting all the menus to the new interface one by one. So in this version, are there any graphics changes? Or will they be in the next version? Or is it for bug fixes only?

I am also waiting for the next beta version for graphics change. Any idea when will it be released?

I can answer this for you after fluffing around with both YAMJ and thumbgen for quite a while.
YAMJ trawls all your folder structure that you have shared from your PC (or copy over to the Playon) and builds a database folder of web links - thumbnails/reviews from imdb (and other sites). It takes a little while to run initially - but re-runs just try and detect what has changed in the interim. Anyway - there will be a file called index.html and a folder called jukebox in your shared folder (I share a folder from my PC and connect from the playon mini via wifi).
When you start up the Playon you can use the YAMJ option and browse to the YAMJ folder and voila! you will have a lovely interface (web like) to navigate through and see your movies/programs complete with program details and nice graphics.

Thumbgen does something similar (ie it looks through the folders you tell it to look in) and tries to work out the movie/program names and looks up details from various sources - like YAMJ. The difference is that it generates a file called 0001.jpg (and some other junk files that are useful for things like xboxes - you can fiddle with thumbgen and turn off creation of the other files I think). Anyway - if you just use the file browse option on the playon, you will see it show the graphics file that thumbgen has built in the right side preview panel. What you can do is press the |> button when you have one of these files previewed and it pops into fullscreen mode. I found you can then use the up arrow/down arrow then to navigate through the pretty picture panels in your shared folder.

So you can use none of the above or one or both of the above.
Hope this makes some sense....

I am using Thumbgen as well. Its great..The only thing I miss is the automatic grouping of movies (based on Genre, year, etc..) like YAMJ does.
