Post Re: Request for bigger AcrylPanels
The biggest obstacle to shipping AcrylPanels (and also AluPanels / MeshxPanels) in bigger sizes is exactly that... shipping.

Most of the promodding gear are going via webshops, and it simply costs too much to ship larger sizes because many standard delivery companies (eg. post) do not handle large sizes. Our webshop resellers need to take up special delivery service companies to ship them and at this moment, this is not happening.

We'll take this up again with our key webshop resellers in some coutnries, and see if we can find a solution in the country. If we do, we will definitely consider shipping bigger sizes.

While were at it...How about doing limited runs of really unique sheet? -Like Galaxyplastic's glow in the dark or pearlecent plexi. There's even some metalflake stuff I would love to get my hands on.

Heck, you could use the forums to put together a pre-order system.

For the Netherlands, it is possible to ship panels with maximum sizes of 1 x 1 meter with TNT, so bigger sizes in The Netherlands is already possible.

(I work by one of the webshops that haves the AC Ryan products)

In the US most etailers will ship UPS or FedEx, for which there shouldn't be oversize issues with ~600mm x 600mm. Only when stuff gets larger than ~1200mm x 600mm would things have to start going freight.

Post Re: Request for bigger AcrylPanels
:( I retract my previous statement. OK, if i was back in the States, I could request larger sized panels... I just got my shipment of ACR mesh & panels this evening after work & even the G.I. who handed me my box in the mailroom said Merry Christmas! :P

I risked my life carrying it and a case of beer up the 2 ice-covered sets of stairs to our apartment...in sub-zero temperatures (F & C!!!)...with a 25 MPH wind...uphill, both ways...

Unfortunately, if it was shipped UPS/FedEx/etc. I'd have to pay customs fees (which are UN-GODLY here BTW), but I could receive larger packages. Performance-PCS were cool enough to include a customs slip marked as "gift" just in case the USPS AND military post office screwed up. :D SHA-BOING-BOING :D

Cheers ACR on your packaging alone, even though the large black sleeves they came in had me looking for a giant tuntable... :geek: :P

Yes, well the problem is that companies like this only sell uncut FULL 9' X 4' sheets. Iv'e tried to contact a few of them and got no reply. It would cost about $2,000 to get the materials I wanted for one build and get them shipped. Even then I would have to rent a truck and pick the sh*t up downtown at the postal depot. That's why I'm hinting to get someone buy a sheet or two and share the love.

This is the place I have done business with in the past. They are in Boulder, CO and the distribute and fabricate there. Contact them and see what they say about smaller pieces.

Hehe, keep screaming :) But there ARE ways of getting larger acryl sheets, just not sure if they come in our fantastic colors :)

...the thinness of the Acrylpanels is an issue as well as the overall size....

 PM me the next time you do a dumpster dive. Those freebies are what got me started on this stuff. I had a buddy who worked in plastic recycling.

On another subject...
-I did a check on Richi's project log. The plexi looks like standard UV yellow/green. I had my hopes up because of the blue background he used in most of the pics.
